I will never forget the performance of this musical in Duke Street Baptist Church, Richmond, UK, nearly 40 years ago. How talented were all the young people involved: actors, singers and musicians. I have written to the Owens before, to thank them personally, but I want to say it again, for anybody who sees it. I have an old tape recording of this, made as a sound check when it was first performed in the UK. For so many years, many very dark years, I would play this and feel stronger. It saved my life on more than one occasion. So thank you. To the Owens, to the man who made that recording, to God.
My dad took us to see The Witness so many times when we were young and we listened to the album so much I can remember all of the songs! Loved this play, thank you for uploading.
I remember singing this on Easter Morning of '81 at the Cemetery in Long Beach @ Ø6ØØ alongside the rest of the Lord's Joyful Chorale from Christ Lutheran Church on Stearns just east of the SB 405 onramp..Powerful song with sharp notes throughtout.
