One has to love her ....and to fear. At least in this legendary staging.... Thanks to William Cristie and Jean Marie Villegier. You created something for eternity.
What an absolutely sumptuous, gorgeous production with brilliant staging. Everyone on that stage is completely immersed in their role, no matter how small. It is like viewing a masterpiece painting from the era...a fabulous tableaux. Stunning!
Very pleasing, Mr. Christie, very pleasing indeed! I am most impressed with the way you have directed this, my most favourite opera. I'm sure Monsieur Lully himself would want to congratulate you for your exemplary performance. This is certainly a triumph for you and your worthy orchestra, Les Arts Florissants. Bravo!
@@nathanpayne6765 I'm glad you noticed, Monsieur Payne. Atys is, after all, my favourite opera. I hope you enjoyed listening to my court composer's music; he is quite talented, no?
@@richardque4952 Yes, I know the sort, but it wasn't in use so much when this particular opera was written. I think it started getting more detailed by the 1690s, whereas Atys was from the 1670s.
Très belle oeuvre trop méconnue.
It is one of the most glorious moments of western music and culture! exactly this opera which is to me the greatest opera even composed!
You must be a genius to be able to create something like that Lully dear. Rest in peace in heaven for eternity.
Amazing!

@@IoannesHoBaptistes I have heard that he did, though emphasis on heard.
