Dudeeeeeeeee, amazing tone! I love this! And thank you for using an epiphone les paul! I'm guessing they're lollar el rayos? Either way, epiphones are such underrated guitars for the money. Thanks again!
@@erikhartley2494 thanks man! Same verb and delay as the picking parts for that guitar. I think it’s one of my upperroom sounds, I make those a little darker and washier. Delay is the el cap, one of the multihead settings! Mix and repeats pretty high but dark. Boost and DRV are on for sustain
Dude your tones are always so inspiring! I'm thinking about making the move from UA to the Tonex One. Any tips on gain staging? I didn't like how the UA stuff responded to my drives but the one tonex I tried, felt awesome!
@@boalston2484 thanks man! I really just stage things like they’re real amps. I start with my comp at unity or barely above, and then the Dcx takes that tone and focuses it a bit more (EQ and a little bit of gain if needed). The AP and daily driver are both first stages. The AP is loud and big, and the DD is crisp and focused. The DRV is my biggest, smoothest almost distortion sound, and then the Benson boost can stand on its own to fill things out or take an existing drive tone and make it louder. Lots of intentional options!
@@jamesransom7711 Man I don't know how I didn't see your response; I'm bummed because this is gold! I ended up getting a tonex one and bringing my iridium back out and it rips bro! So if I'm understanding your setup right, all of your drives are set at different volumes too in order to give yourself more combinations?
@@boalston2484 nice man! Basically every drive gives me a little volume lift, maybe 5-10% more. That keeps things nice and predictable when I’m going for a different tone in a song
@@itscoleperkins sort of I guess? Haha I usually think in terms of EG1/EG2, it necessarily rhythm and lead. The top for this video definitely takes care of more of the rhythm stuff towards the end of the song, but both are playing a variety of different parts!
@@jamesransom7711 right, that’s why I had to ask. In a lot of songs it’s chords on the rhythm guitar and licks on the lead the whole song. Thats how we divide it up between our guitarists though so I was just looking to assign them properly.
thanks!
its not always the drives and gains. this is amazing!
@@jankarloberasis2299 100%! Each song is unique and you can chart whatever path feels best on it 🙏🏽
Amazing as usual! Love the little harmony line!
Thanks man! Love that part too 🤘🏽
Great tone!

Nice! So the top is rhythm and the bottom is lead?
