I think it’s kinda obvious that they didn’t mean that kind of dark Tim Burton’s films are all creepy and dark looking so most smaller children don’t watch or like it while disney style is very sweet looking and all the characters look huggable and sweet except maybe the villain

Mufassa dying was heartbreaking, but there was something SO tragic about Bambi’s mum getting shot at the hands of a human and out of the blue like that. I think it was wrong to include that in a film for very young kids. Let’s face it TNBC was aimed at much older kids anyway, and most of the characters were spooky but not actually evil. Even Oogie boogie had a sort of loveable element to him, and no one actually dies. Disney definitely is confused on the issue of what’s “too dark” I completely agree.

And he designed the characters so yea it's Tims movie.
BigBossJelly That's because Tim was too busy with another film like batman it took them a couple of years to make this movie and it came out in 1993. batman came out in 1989 along with beetlejuice. yes henry should get some credit as the director but Tim wrote the story and created the characters.

when i was younger , i used to be terrified of this film. i hadn't even watched it but jack scared the ghosts outta me. four years later, its my favourite film after watching it. it's still my favourite to this day.

I haven't been to Tokyo Disney, but I went to a Halloween-themed rock concert last week. Not only was the music before the concert this film's soundtrack, but the way the artists performed and the events they held felt very much like a Halloween Town festival. It was like their whole idea of the holiday is based off this one movie.

the way I heard the story of Danny Elfman singing for Jack was that he wrote all the songs before the script was done and felt a deep connection to Jack. he asked Tim if he could sing for Jack as he felt he was the only one who could do the character justice.

Yea stop motion is incredibly tedious work that requires extreme attention to detail, patience, time and effort. And to make something as long and complex as a full length film is just amazing.
