I’m 57 been laying bricks since college 1982
I still dry bond now, I got to laugth the amount people wondering what I’m doing, even saying aren’t you meant to put muck down first, I have to explain ,
O always dry bond its the only way,on long solder courses over lintels or steels dry bond , leave the bricks in place with your 10mm perps and 1 brick is 3 solders, if you dry bond the complete steel/ lintel your can’t go wring, make sure you double line it and check each solder with your boat level
I know every trick in the book , but still find easy adaptions
Live this Chanel , keep up the good work

3 things differently that I would tell a beginner the obvious 1 you are calling the arris a harris 2 after you dry lay them you wouldn't throw them back behind you you would pick up a brick put mortar and put the brick back were you had it dry 3 you would start the second course with a head or half to make sure you are on half bond of course I can point out other things but you said three so

In architecture, an arris is the sharp edge formed by the intersection of two surfaces, such as the corner of a masonry unit; the edge of a timber in timber framing; the junction between two planes of plaster or any intersection of divergent architectural details.
