Subscribed like I should have when I saw your Doré video, you are incredibly knowledgeable and even more gracious to share that knowledge with the world.

One of my favourite self-portraits is from Caravaggio, because if you are gonna paint yourself into a painting it might as well be as the severed head of Goliath. Great video...yet again

You made me love Durer even more! Writer's and artists from that era 15th century on( I'm thinking of Cervantes and Durer in particular) loved showing that all life is an art form...ok, that's my take.....

They just had to show that the artist is the center of it......

+Sean Bell They really did, and it adds another fascinating layer to their work! Nowadays people would just say they were being meta...

Are you a Dostoevsky fan, my dude?

+Nathan Hines I'm somewhat ashamed to say I've never actually read any Dostoevsky! I've had a copy of "The Brothers Karamazov" hanging around for a while but I just haven't had a chance to pick it up yet.

BookwormHistory I recommend you start with "Notes from the Underground" if you have the chance. It's shorter, more involving, and has been know to bring grown men to tears.

That's the best endorsement for a book I've ever heard! Sold! I'll start there, thanks!
