I’ve been trying to work on my book since I was 14. I’m almost 17 and I’ve been putting it on hold because I’m scared that no one would like it. But I love the idea so much and I thought that since I’m a teenager it wouldn’t be worth it. You’ve given me inspiration and confidence to continue working on it! I hope you don't mind me asking who edited your book? I haven't even finished my first draft yet and I'm already thinking about editing 😀
Thanks! I think that you should wait until you have fully finished your first draft until looking into editors. I was always tempted, but I think waiting helped out. When your ready, you should research some editors and ask them for their rates or if they know someone else (like a cheaper college student) like what happened in my case. Hope this helps!

Hiya! I started writing back in early 2019, around the time I turned 12. I'm 16 now, I've been working on this story since the summer of 2019. It started out as a simple superhero story that changed so much over the years; it was supposed to be a duology, but book 1 was so hopeless that I just merged the two 😅 I have only a few chapters to go before the story is over. It's called "Oblivion, A Timeless Void", and I hope to publish it before I turn 17. Thank you for the helpful video!

Thank you so much for the inspiration, when I was 13 in march of 2020, I thought about a story that surged from the experiences I lived through videogames, and after all those personal changes and philosophical and analytical views of life subjects, my story grew and I plan to make it into a series. Now I´m almost 17 and I started writing since I was 14, but went harder progressively until now since 15. I will not die in peace if I cannot make my dream into something true, and after I edited my draft, I was a little afraid of researching how to publish it, but you helped me, thank you.
Also congrats on publishing your own book at your age. You’ll go for with such work ethic and diligence in life. I’m 18 and have been wanting to write a book on how to improve your quality of life and mental health and a poem book, as I’ve write many poems over the past couple of years.

Im 13 years old. I started writing when i was 9 or 10 and i have started a super sad, long book that took me just under a year to plan(probably making it a series). And Ive always wondered, "can i publish a book as a teenager?" Now that i know how easy it is, im not holding back. Ill set the same goal, publish a book at 16. Thank you for the inspiration!

About a week ago I decided I would write a book and I just got to the end of the first chapter! I'm really proud of myself and I honestly think people will love it! I think I stole 1 idea from a book I've already read but it was just that water wielders can't get wet lol

I’m currently working on a book and I’m debating if I should publish it or not. It started as a project for my gifted class, but I’m probably about half way done now and it’s became so much to me. If I were to publish it I would have remove a lot of personal jokes and change names as people asked for some characters to be named after them. Earlier today I was telling myself it wouldn’t be a good idea to publish it, (as it is a book about two teenagers trying to save horses from this curse. If I get more into it I might as well put the whole book in here) but then I remember there is a bestseller about a wizard who goes to a school called hogwarts. I don’t know where I’m going with this comment anymore so imma just leave it off here.

Hiya! I’ve just turned 12 and I’ve wanted to be an author since I was a small child. I’ve wrote 3 short stories in my life and 1 was made into a hardback copy but never actually published (I wrote it when I was 8 and it was only like 30 pages). Right now, I’ve finished the planning stages of my book which took me months, and have started to write it up. Currently I have 1,000 words. Basically I’ve only just started. My goal is to publish by the time I’m 17 and this video gave me that boost I needed. Just knowing someone else managed to do so makes me feel so hopeful. Thank you so much.

I just now came up with a plot for a science fiction/ fantasy novel which I think is pretty unique and interesting and I’m now planning it out and taking notes of the basics. Hopefully I can finish it before I’m 18!

i always wanted to write books for as long as i could remember. i’ve been writing stories since i was a kid, and then randomly one day two years ago i was like “you know what, i’m actually gonna do it” so i did some research and i tried to find a publisher, cus based on all the stuff i’d heard the traditional publishing route was better in the long run. i was trying to find a publisher for months and it never went anywhere, so i ended up deciding that i would just self publish it, and it took me another few weeks before i found the software that worked for me/my situation so that i wouldn’t have to pay anything cus i was a jobless broke 17 year old😭 but now i’m 19 and my poetry book is almost finished!!

Nothing too specific!! I found my editor by emailing a bunch of random ones, and then one of them referred me to my editor!

yes, after you publish it, you can get author copies for less! I think that’s how it works, look up “how to get your author copies from kdp” to be sure! It will save you a ton of money if you want copies of your own first👍

some of the best authors in history have put aside a book and finished it over 30 years later, and it becomes a bestseller. so i recommend to just take a break if you feel unmotivated, because you'll always get the sudden urge to continue writing it again at a random time
