I think I said that last year, but I just haven't been as focused on FPV the last 12 months, and HDZero feels so good that nothing else has been compelling enough to make me want to pick up a whole new video ecosystem again.
Ok... NOW I'm impressed. And interested!!! Thanks for the review, Joshua! 😃 Looking forward to the tests with the light version! Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
So, it's fully possible to put on FPV plane and use your own 2.4 Transmitter system and everything to control the plane and Googles + this for videolink, recording and head tracking?
DJI finally listened. Small light package, delivered. Low light and low latency, delivered. But the O4 Pro Camera is large. What about the possibility to connect the O3 Camera to the O4 Air Unit?
4k on tinywhoops/toothpicks is going to be insane, but I can't bring myself to switch to DJI from walksnail. I hope this pushes walksnail to make a 4k lite unit.
Hi Joshua, in order to see if the O4 lite can step up against the polar nano, could you please share DVR of both cams in a dark room with no light at all. As you see from your comments from the last video about the O4 that is what many pilots want to know. The polar cams have been superior for flying in darkness and so far nothing could compare. Thank you for making the effort.
Looks great but we need a better remote if DJI wants us to use the built-in rc link. Full size gimbals with adjustable tension bring so much more than the toy-like rc3.
You cant even get new O3's from DJI anymore. I wanted to keep using the O3's because i like my V2's, but i guess the price & size of the O4 air unit lite would make me want to finally get a new set of Goggles. I bought my V2's years ago and it would be a nice upgrade to the OLEDs..
My thoughts as a random person who doesn't fly DJI cause money (and previously weight): 1. Lite version is really cool, if it is tougher than walksnail that is really cool. 2. Really sucks that goggles V2 aren't compatible. 3. Performance seems really good (I have only ever flown Caddx Vista with various cameras). I am more impressed than Bardwell. 4. Still too expensive (for me personally) to put on a drone (just bought parts for 2 complete HD Zero 3" toothpicks for $400). Although with the Lite Vtx, would have been like $480, which is reasonably price competitive I think. 5. Racing mode is really cool, I don't think the hardcore folks would switch but I bet its a good entry point for casual racers. Maybe not big news for me or people who like the pro, but the Lite VTX seems really exciting for folks who wanted that, the price point and weight are really really good.

if its 1s then yeah 5V pad would be fine as long as it has enough Power/Amp delivery at 5V to meet the load requirements. Im sure a modern FC with a 5V/3A Pad would be fine though at 15watts.. Most people arent powering their O3's directly off the battery anymore anyway when you have a filtered power supply on the FC to use. Otherwise a BEC would solve this.. You could also just power it from the usual 9VDC/10VDC FC Pad like on most 2S-4S build's where you would have with the O3 air unit powered like this anyway.. The 1s just means it can actually be used on a 1s whoop and not shut-off halfway through from voltage being too low..
More power is okay but … what we needed is to be able to fly in 30fps while goggles at a 100fps so we could completely drop the GoPro. The only thing I was looking for out of a new air unit, other than that the o3 still good enough for me and now cheaper
Yes. Press the joystick up (which, confusingly, is towards the front of the goggles) to bring up the camera settings menu. One of the options is auto/manual.
