I feel like an idiot! At first I thought why would Jamie just accept that was the Doctor as he never witnessed a regeneration and how did he know Peri? Then I shouted "D'OH!" remembering the Colin Baker serial "The Two Doctors". I must be getting senile.🤒
This story is awesome in billions of ways but the Cybermen evolving from the Voord sounds bizarre and the Cybermens home planet Mondas been called Marinus is weird too.
A great way to try and combine some of the different Cyberman origins (until New Who came along and muddled things further). It'd be cool to see them adapt this story in the show to further the Cybermasters storyline. Perhaps the bit at the end is why the Time Lords get cyberconverted - they allowed it to happen in order to bring about a greater good.
There’s so much in these strips that influenced the new who writers, even if they don’t know it themselves they all read these strips as children, I love your theory about the time lords cyber converting! I think the new who cyber origins was on the alternate earth so this can still stand as canon (in my head at least!). Jamie’s death has been disproved by tales of the tardis though!
I wonder if they comic team had plans for the 6th doctor beyond this story before having to change to the 7th Doctor due to the sudden changes at the BBC with Colin being let go and JNT having to get a new Doctor 🤔

I will say I remembered before Peri recounts the events of "The Two Doctors" to Frobisher. So at least I DID remember on my own!
Planet 14,that suggests Cybermen are involved! Planet 14 was mentioned in the episode The Invasion!
