I do believe AI is coming for a lot of jobs, even mine one day as a mechanical engineer. I think the holdup is that AI just isn't advanced enough to be reliable for most jobs yet but eventually it will be. It will always come down to money, AI will most likely be cheaper than people and you'll be able to run it 24/7. Not to mention you'll avoid all the office politics and HR issues that real people bring.

We’re all at a bit of an inflection point. It’s coming fast, but yeah, it will affect some areas sooner than other. The biggest challenge we have as individuals is to choose whether we’ll adapt to the new opportunities it creates or try to cling tightly to what we’re comfortable with. The folks in the latter category will have a much more difficult time, that’s for sure.

AI will eventually take my job as a massage therapist, but probably after most other jobs are automated.
Seems like productivity will go crazy the next few years without an increase in labor. Billionaires are going to become trillionairs, right?

Yeah, it’s a wild world right now, and the point you make about the wealth divide is a huge problem we’ve got to keep top of mind.
