Woohoo! Thanks Big Dawg! 🤘 much love fella. And you should definitely do something on Dannoura (thats the one I was spacing on the spelling of) and definitely some Shikoku stories. Or Mt. Hiei. That place HAS to be haunted given what Oda Nobunaga did to the old monastery there. Kyoto would definitely be haunted. It's seen hella hard times in the Heian period, The Onin War (when the city was almost completely razed) and Sengoku periods. The wide spread famine that happened. Even the Imperial Palace grounds became a roving ground for wolves and wild dogs. It was however spared bombing during WWII unlike many of the other large cities.
Well, obviously my favorite story is the first one that has to do with the Heian period and Abe no Seimei, about whom I've translated a few stories from Konjaku Monogatari Shu and made videos about myself. Apparently his house was supposedly haunted as well and you might even still be able to go there. You should look a little more into the historical stories. They can be really creepy. I can tell you that I'll eventually get to a whole section in this collection I'm working on that deals with demons and ghosts. They can be really freaky but also a little . . . odd, like the possessed plank of wood that flew around and beat people to death.
Discovered your channel about a month ago and have binged it ever since. You have a great voice for story telling, your stories are super creepy, AND we get to learn a little about Japanese culture! You've gained another fan...keep doing what you're doing!
22:36 Hateruma Island, Okinawa I'm reminded of the movie Shutter. I can imagine children and people with the gift/sight of seeing the lingering ghost. 😮
I was impressed by the story 2 as well as the last one. You always have incredible haunted stories. Impossible not to enjoy it all! Thank you J. I wish a great night
Got to be the Kyoto stories, I used to live in Kyoto and went to both of these locations. I know an antique dealer, not far away from Roku-do, and he told me the history of the area. It used to be called Skull Street, but it was changed because of the negative historic connotations, which still permeate the class system to this day. I also went to the candy shop and I recommend it to visitors. Maybe one day I will tell you my story in Kyoto. It's not scary, but to this day, I can't forget it
To say that you are awesome with your stories, won't be enough! Congratulations on your great Sponsor! Thank you, i will get spooky before fall asleep 😊
Are you planning to take a look at Osore-zan (恐山) on the Shimokita Peninsula? I was there in the early 1980's with a small group of Japanese and gaijin. On the way back, we stopped at a gokart place, but during the first run, the youngest member of our group got in an accident and injured her ankle pretty badly; so we had to cut short the activities. One of the Japanese members of our group said that the spirits weren't satisfied with the offering we had left at Osore-zan, and punished her.
YESSSS THIS IS GONNA BE GOOD!! I am interested in Mount Kumara, Japan. Has to be some kind of weird action going on there. I read a book called The Arcturian Antholoy. In the book an ancient alien named Sanat* Kumara said he visited earth 10 million years ago in what is now Japan, he fell in love with some being that was able to live on earth at that time, even though it hadn’t been terraformed yet. Like he said the earth was ROUGH back in the day. Anyway he wanted to stay but he had a mission as a scientist or something and they meet in other dimensions but he regrets not just stopping his whole life to be with his boo thang. But yeah where that temple is is supposed to be roughly where he landed. He said a lot of humans think he’s an angel but he just looks good bc of advanced reparative technology, being of a higher dimensional vibration, and because his planet isn’t a nasty ball of poison like we’ve done ours
Interesting that there are so many stories in so many different cultures about the "ghost passenger", whether it's a taxi or picking up a hitch hiker, it's much the same.
Seriously man, just drop the “TRUE” or at least the caps…. And just treat these as stories. This entire genre exists only because of suspension of disbelief, and nothing breaks immersion more than the word “TRUE”
Wait, are you saying someone, maybe the father or a family member, abandoned the woman’s baby by her grave? WTF, I’d come back from the dead to buy candy and take care of my child too! 🤬🤬🤬
Since this comment will be either deleted or slide into nothingness anyway because it's not the usual sugar coating, here goes nothing: The rise of endless sponsor blocks in videos does quite the opposite to me and I'll unsubscribe. There will be others out there supporting you, so it's not a big deal I'm gone, but this whole "Like, subscribe, set the bell, buy this stuff"-thing is just... yeah. whatever. was nice listening to you.

The bells 🔔!!!
😣😣😫
More regional ghost stories yes!!
I personally don't mind the unboxing. I'm super curious 😊
I really like urban legends about ghost taxis, a normal looking passenger gets and and later just vanishes, very creepy. Awesome video J Nightmares.
I'm really happy you're getting sponsors cause that means you're getting bigger and getting more money and can get more time to research stories! Haha
Let me know your favourite story from this collection to help shape videos going forward, mine was Tsubono Onsen (Story 2 after Kyoto)
How can I have a favorite when they are all so good! 😅
I love em all, okay! I just do! 😅

I love these regional stories and real spots. I love all of them i would be happy to hear any based in Kyoto ❤
The first story is in Kyoto
I feel like I have taken a mini tour of Japan! I will listen to any stories you do. If you come across any ghost photos, please post👻
To say that you are awesome with your stories, won't be enough! Congratulations on your great Sponsor!
Thank you, i will get spooky before fall asleep 😊
Great stories. Especially the last one. I always enjoy your narration. ❤
Love the ghost stories!
With places like that, that have that kind of energy. I would feel it and be like Nope before we evern get there.

I wish I could grab a blanket. But it's 90° in California today 😭
Shared ❤❤❤ thanks, J Nightmares!!
Thanks for the video
I'd love to hear more about these famous sorcerers!
YESSSS THIS IS GONNA BE GOOD!!

Great vid JN, always a pleasure :)
Haaa, I've got that M&S biscuit tin! The cool haunted house one 😊❤
YES!❤❤❤
Listening while I knit ❤

Thank you so much i hope you’re having a great day I’m in bed listening to your voice ❤😊😎
J Nightmares, the best nightmares!
Stories officially start @05:44 🙄
Tojimbo reminds me of an amazing waterfall near my place. Minyon falls. Many have lost their lives there
This might be far off but I’d love to hear about any Ainu ghost stories
Nice video
I often wonder if there's any ghost stories related to unit 731
Thanks J Nightmares.
I heard of a haunted tunnel in Japan but can't remember the name. It's in Tokyo I belive
Hopefully, I'll get to Japan one day. For the time being, I'll settle for photographing Japanese rock bands.
Didn’t know there was Halloween in Japan.
⛩📿 Sad ending for the 2 young girls. May they now be at peace.
I’d love to know if there is something at Cape Erimo in Eastern Hokkaido!
The place felt very eerie but not necessarily in a negative way…
look forward to the bells...
Taking five minutes to get to first story is rather too long.
If I can only see one city in Japan if I ever go there, I will choose Kyoto over Tokyo.
Wait, are you saying someone, maybe the father or a family member, abandoned the woman’s baby by her grave? WTF, I’d come back from the dead to buy candy and take care of my child too! 🤬🤬🤬
My dad just brought me 2 pen lights with a massive amount of extra batteries. Perhaps he's privy to some ish bout to go down 😅
In time for October.
The treats look delicious 😊
Heian era…sorcerer…. Sounds familiar.
Remember to hit that Like button on the way in👻
❤
Damn that ad was long.
Sorry, but, please get rid of the cricket noise in the background, it takes over all other sound for me and I can't focus on anything else.
👍🐸👍
Lets see your face Raven 😘
Too much advertising!!¡!!
M8, it shouldnt take you 6+ minutes to actually get into the video. Just some constructive criticism.
Many creators place their sponsorship ads in the beginning of their videos. You can always skip ahead...
@@SafeHavenStudiosLLC I do and I did. What he's doing is a bit excessive.
I agree, they should do the ads at the end
You can’t do them at the end. Sponsors won’t pay for that.
I pay for no ads on UA-cam. I just skip ahead.
