  • Streaming is gradually making bigger waves in the DJ world, but the Pioneer CDJ-3000 was not one making those waves. Though now it sort of is... We investigate how you can stream on the Pioneer CDJ-3000, using Rekordbox, Dropbox and their new CloudDirectPlay feature which brings the ability to stream your music to the CDJ3000.

    Lol it's not streaming. Just means your harddrive with your own music is miles and miles away... some would say high in the clouds.
    Denon is true streaming. This is an after thought on pio to catch up as they can see users jumping ship.
    As if a club will have internet hub in the booth. Djing from the club office lol.
    This would be used at home .... and if your at home why pay extra for dropbox when your tunes would be no more that 2 feet away on a PC drive ????

    • @GetintheMix

      It is streaming, but of course streaming is most commonly referred to in the context of services like Spotify, in which you don't own the digital content, you can just stream it from them. Streaming your own music from Dropbox is still very much streaming.
      We can see internet in a club booth being a thing in the future, not saying right now, but in the future. After all, why not?
      Of course the streaming on Denon DJ equipment is a step up in terms of options and versatility, offering streaming of your own collection from music services plus Dropbox, but this is a notable step for the CDJ and how people will use CDJs in the future.

    unfortunately this isn't very helpful as the whole process isn't any faster/simpler than just popping all my files onto a physical usb drive anyways.
    This just adds more necessary digital connectivity points that could fail out on you in the club.
    I'm waiting for pioneer to catch up and continue developing (ie. spotify/tidal straight into the players) but overall, thx for the vid.

      The rekordbox ecosystem is way more comfortable than engine. You can't put an old engine usb to an engine 2.0 device, but you can use an old rekordbox stick to play with the newest CDJ

    hmmm im kinda disapointed, i really wish they would just open it up to stream from spotify and deezer... not for in person live stuff but when ur DJing over the internet who really cares, ur audio is going to be compressed anyways. Also would be great to practice/find the greatest set. If ur live in person then yeah you should be using wavs n all that. Just an old fart company that still trying the wranggle all the control in its sphere, they once ruled the world n eventully they will be left behind if they dont catch up to current times, somone will just do it better.

    I like 3000s and am about to buy a pair, but they are soooo far behind Denon when it comes to features like this. Denon has built-in Wifi and hardware gigabit ethernet. I already own SC6000s, and they are pretty feature packed. But, there are some issues with them that Pioneer simply has nailed down. Rekordbox is sooooo much more mature than Engine DJ (desktop). But, no one can deny that Denon's hardware is just better in almost (I prefer Pressure Sensitive Platters) every possible way.

    • @cashvault1996
      @cashvault1996 Рік тому

      I have heard a couple cons about the Denon equipment though. A couple of my friends have it and they say that the Wi-Fi feature on it keeps crashing for no reason every minute or so, which always interrupts their performances and disables visibility of their tracks and tracks won't load on the decks. So, Pioneer may be better for connectivity, but maybe Denon does have more features to experiment with.
