Happy new bike Henry! Given the fact they take up almost no space, but give you a little extra storage for things you want to be able to access quickly, I think they are a winner. Enjoy the touring! Where are you headed??
@@Fergutron based in Fort William, usually over to Sky, Ullapool, and a day over on the east coast.. we try to get up to Scotland every year if possible, superb for biking...
You are absolutely welcome @seamus RBNW. Thanks for watching. Rest assured - after a few runs with them, I have found them to be super useful and still loving the look. They've had a fair few compliments from others too which is nice!
Really enjoyed the video and pleased to have discovered your channel. I’m awaiting delivery of a pair of theses panel bags in tobacco. Looking forward to seeing more Royal Enfield related videos 👍🏻
The fact that you could still ride the bike with one shock is testimony to the machine. Obviously the little bit of slack had worked the top bolt loose. The stock bolts are a bit shorter, I fitted a rear rack and that came with longer bolts. Ride safe.
Hey Paul. The bolt was still intact and tight. The shock slid clean off because there was no washer there. No excuses, other than stupidity and rushing. I didn't think to put a washer on. My only defense is that I didn't see the racks go on, and therefor didn't have the leftover washers that were removed prior to fitting!
You're going to love that bike, I bought one back in 2019 and wouldn't part with it. It gets more smiles to the gallon than any other bike I've owned and always grabs a lot of attention wherever I park it.
Just stumbled in here as a new subscriber from your recent superb review of the 650. I'm still thumping around on an elderly original model Iron Barrel preunit Bullet 500 "Military" with those slim ammo can style panniers, so I'm all set for storage on the move. Yet it occurs to me that those lovely side panel bags might be just the ticket for my 650-riding countrymen and women here in the Land of the Plastic Spork who are often annoyed that their side panels are required by law to read "INT650" from the factory instead of "INTERCEPTOR 650". It seems that here in the USA Honda had already locked down the "Interceptor" trademark for its own offerings. Such side panel bags would seem to offer an attractive, inexpensive, and quite practical solution to those bedeviled by international trademark laws, the Treaty of Ghent and all those lawyers who might one day provide a fine source of protein if the rest of us had any sense. The "INT650" owner's only other alternative, apart from ordering foreign sidepanels unencumbered by legal wrangling, might be to go through the great trouble and expense of installing one of those 750 or 850 "big bore kits", and then breaking out a white Sharpie marker and changing that "INT650" to "AIN'T650". So, once again, well done, Sir!
Loving the honest review (& The Good, The Bad & The Ugly video). I am seriously considering getting an Interceptor but probably the GT 659 Continental Cafe Racer. I might be one of your furthest away subscribers as I'm in Trinity Beach (Near Cairns) Far North Queensland, Australia (but I'm English by birth and only been down under for 4.5 years). Keep up the good work ... I'll be watching!!!
Thank you Andrew! I'm just starting out and your comment is very reassuring mate. Very cool that I have a watcher down under!! The Continental GT is stunning and far more comfortable and practical than it looks. I was toying with the idea of trying out the clip on set up on my interceptor at some point
Really loved your video brilliant . I just altered my suspension and my bike was good checked air pressure . I had my Enfield from 2019 love the bike and the only thing i change is the oil and re set tappits i like the bike as it come from the dealer i did fit back rack and top bag and two saddle bags Keep up the video's there really good 👍 👌
Another good video, have just subscribed, the bags could also hold a pair of over trousers just in case. Loved your video of loch Earn, my wife and I had a holiday there about 25 years ago, brought back some memories. Cheers
Thank you so much my friend. My first subscriber from Spain I reckon! I've just invested in some new equipment, so I really expect things to get moving in a good direction soon! Watch this space :) Glad you enjoyed it.
Had the same thing happen to me when I removed the handle on the left side. Luckily I only loosened the left shock, and it didn't hit the panel when it came loose. Had to go to Royal Enfield for another rubber bushing, though, as I lost mine when the strut came off. Nice video, bag seems like it's worth the money!
Cheaper and better looking in my opinion. I think all the alternatives I've seen have that very "square" look with boxxy visble seams etc and often act as a replacement for the side panel. I like that these just slip on and off with no hassle! Perfect for a disc lock mate. Thanks for watching!
@@RichardsModellingAdventures come back and let me know what you think of them! I'm tempted to get them myself as I don't deliberately ride in the wet and only occassionally wash the bike with water (using valcanet wipes at the moment... Might do a wee video on them too!)

I just uploaded a video a couple of days ago of the tank strap and bag I bought from them. Fantastic quality for a great price. Really impressed by their stuff.
Thank you for subscribing John and happy new bike when it comes and Good luck with your test! My next video (which I will probably publish tomorrow) is focused on the Interceptor as a first big bike, so your timing is impeccable!
New subscriber, good review of the bags, they look very practical. Which windscreen do you have in the video and how effective is it at 60-70 mph? Thanks in advance
Thanks! It was a Puig screen that came with the bike from the Dealer. It was a good screen and definitely took off a little wind, but I didn't much like how it looked.
Gday , just wondering what screen you added to bike in the final part of video …i like the size but does it make more buffeting around helmet as i bought the oem one in the short version and i find it directs air to helmet more than if bike was naked
Hey Alex. That was the puig screen. Actually, that was filmed prior, on my ride home from the dealer. I removed it almost immediately and put the short Enfield fly screen on. The puig did make a bit of difference for me, I definitely felt more blast after I removed it, but not so much that I wanted to put it back on. . The short one makes no difference that I can see but I do like how it looks. Thanks for watching mate!
The minute I saw the blue in person, it became the one I wanted! I liked orange too and chrome. Don't love the two tone ones. Blacks obviously awesome too. I might grab another tank at some point and switch it up. If I did it would likely be glitter and dust!
Iv got a interceptor 2022 and was looking at these I got some tank knee protectors from raw and rugguard and there really good quality. Only thing about using these to you catch your legs on them while riding or when you stop at lights ect? As that's the only issue for me if they stick out too much and effect riding by getting in the way. Please let me know if they effect you in anyway. Thanks 👍
I'll admit they put me on my toes at stop lights, when I put my legs straight down, but I can't flat foot it to begin with. As far as riding with them goes, I can sometimes feel the top corner under my thigh and the bottom corner on top of my calf but it's not at all intrusive. I have a habit of testing the limits of carrying capacity and with how shallow these bags are itis easy to reach those limits... So the first dy riding to work with them and deciding to forego a backpack I was able to pack a disk brake lock (main reason for purchase), a sandwich, two small pastries, and a can of coffee; at that point I could not close them at all and THAT made riding quite cumbersome. The bag can hold a pair of gloves, or phone and wallet, or a few granola bars but without utilizing the space between the frame bars these bags are quite minimal and about 50/50 form/function. I wouldn't recommend them to someone looking solely for storage over saddlebags but I for one do love them and how they've transformed the look of the bike. As this guy stated, great cosmetically and the minor function is basically a bonus. Make of it what you will.
I should add that I've got a Continental GT and my inseam is about 31" at best - am 5'7". If you can flat foot this bike the bags might make you lift your heels a little bit but they shouldn't cause you discomfort. I CAN avoid them if I get myself right up against the tank.
Thanks guys for all your information and opinions. 5ft7, 30 inside leg and I can't 100% flat foor on it 🤣 It's weird my jacked up 929 fireblade felt high but could flat foot easily 😳. @@buster8847 quality is fantastic. One thing I would note is that the finish on the side panels does get a little scuffed etc with dust getting between the bag and the panel.
