Doug just finished his first offshore "sail" this morning. "sail" is in quotes because on a 325 mile journey with the wind blowing in exactly the direction he was headed from 8 to 20 knots he only sailed 5 miles of it, and then he never broke 3 knots. Whenever anyone tried to talk to doug about stability (which is a vital topic for sailing and not intuitive) doug would run them down, and tell them off for trying to infect his joy with problems they have only imagined. Turns out even a light breeze of 4-5 knots on a beam reach is enough to blow seeker to a 25 degree heel when she has all her sails up. If you're building a house and you make the foundation out of silly putty it doesn't really matter how nice you build it, and really if you get help and free resources to build it you are just wasting them building on a poor foundation. A por sailboat design is the same way.

Man I would love to donate my time on this. I’m a shipyard welder and fabricator . If you ever come up to Vancouver British Columbia then I will donate my help and time to whatever you need
Just so you know I built Nuclear Submarines for General Dynamics in New London Ct. It was a common joke that we built the submarine 3 times, One the part didn't work as advertised 2 it broke somehow some way and thirdly the navy go hold of it and broke it a second time. This is after we had installed it all of those times. An trust me your boat isn't anything like a submarine. It is a thousand times more complicated. So rest assured you are doing well. Con grats you have a beautiful vessel and I love what you will be doing with it. Have agrat day RC
Casual observer: why do you show your failures? Is it to show you learned something from them? Doug: yes it shows I learned it takes longer to edit them out if your don’t show them.
That boat is a death trap, absolutely NO research organization would EVER put their people on a piece of crap like that. It's not insurable, and not seaworthy. They would never get a licensed Captain to run it. I've seen some of their build videos, hopefully Doug stays healthy enough to see it launched, they use no protective equipment when welding, painting, etc....

You know I'm kind of wondering if that you were trying to waste everybody's time having a sitting here watching this goddamn program is the friggin ship in your yard

That Thoreau quote really resonates from the man that cried wolf for a bit of Internet attention. 🤔🤷♂️👍

OH NO THE CONSEQUENCES OF MY ACTIONS
man ! I haven't looked at this channel in 3 tears and its still in his yard
It will be ready in 2 years!
Well he's currently getting ready to float it
Finally the story about the captains wheel octopus!
Thanks for activating the closed captioning. I like your presentations a lot and having closed captioning really helps.
One word - AMAZING
This is just a gorgeous design for a boat. I've always loved the junks

hi like the show . the boat is looking very good
Correction, "Man is Building"... The project is still ongoing and will take at least another year.
It goes in the water this weekend
You guys got that 'railing' polished up good, lol.

Noah built a boat in the desert. And his friends and his neighbors all thought he was crazy.
Good work keep up guys! You are amazing!
you said 47 ft in the thumbnail, ummm i watch his channel, its definitely 74
i think its a typo and meant to put 74
What I want to know is if the boat is still docked in your front yard or is it on water already
Its still in the land. Go check out the boats channel Sv seeker
Noah's at it again
I can’t decide if this thing needs more Handrails, or MORE COWBELL!!! 😄😄
For sure it needs more hand rails. It seems like there are large areas where there is nothing to grab for support that isn't jagged.
Man I would love to donate my time on this. I’m a shipyard welder and fabricator . If you ever come up to Vancouver British Columbia then I will donate my help and time to whatever you need
RIP Hugh Hood.
The boat is on a truck and trailer now. Launching in 13 days
Still sitting high and dry at the port as of 28 Sep 2021.

Will it float ??
Hey Doug you still have two Kidneys :-) - why do boat builders make a hull and drill holes in it? - Stay Safe
Casual observer: why do you show your failures? Is it to show you learned something from them?
Doug: yes it shows I learned it takes longer to edit them out if your don’t show them.
Haven't watched that channel since they pulled the fake injury video.
I did for awhile but i'm back watching and enjoying the process. Dougs still a good man just a little misdirected at times.
Lots of people left... I'm blaming the guy who filmed it, not doug.
@@imbadwrench he didn't have to participate in the video, so equal blame as far as I am concerned.
@@riley_roach Doug can be charming and affable, when he feels it suits him, that's not the same as being a good man.
What happened to Miss Betsy? Why don't we see her anymore?

Hater bruh
This thing is SEVERELY underpowered. You guys do realize that, right?
Greyghost680 I’m not sure...
What makes you think that ? How much power should it have in your opinion to be safe ?

Hi there is another comment not a bot.
Love svseeker! I would've loved to have had the opportunity to work on the boat.

My understanding is that this boat is uninsurable for numerous safety reasons and is unlikely to ever be launched.
why does this have under 1k views wth
the audio volume is absurd! why is it soo loud? it shouldn't hurt my ears at %4 volume level on my computer
Too bad Doug is a con artist
Are you stealing other peoples videos?
