Second time watching this! The most witty, and charming composer EVER! The pic Danny showed here is one of my favourite snapshots of Rick in the WHOLE WORLD btw! lts been on my phone for years, and l'll never erase it!! BRAVO Wakeman!
Theres actually some pretty good songs adn impressive playing on that album. I bought it about a year after it come out and 'Dylic' 'Find the Time' and the title track 'No expense spared' still live on my ipod. Thanks for posting this interview. Its been a long time since I saw it. Now all we need is the series 'Bygones', also with Danny Baker to be posted!
Baker is a legend. Wakeman would not have done any other show at that time. He and Baker are friends and shame on the BBC for killing the show in favour of interviews with shallow monosyllabic idiots to a appeal to morons.
So, I'm reading the third instalment of Danny Baker's autobiography and he mentions a calamitous, hilarious version of Life On Mars backed by Rick Wakeman, in Bowie's original key. Can I find it? Can I fuck . . .
If I didn't know better, and comparing other interviews, I'd say he might have completed the costume ensemble with a little bit of marching powder. Great stuff though!
Ricks just got better and better. The humour is top notch laugh out loud stuff.
His two books had me in fits from start to finish this was the warm up act.
God bless Rick Wakeman! What a legend. I absolutely love this man's demeanour...Not to mention his impeccable playing.

I bet Jeffery tells the story of how his album got signed till this day.
when I started following YES in 1971, Rick had just joined. When he isn't doing the YES bit, THIS bit, the other Richard, is quite the entertainer!
l absolutely LOVE this man! Huge listener to Yes, AND Wakey solo material! He's a BRILLIANT man! Thank you for posting. xD
This is just brilliant stuff
The man's brilliant! Newfound respect.

I’m sure he’ll remember that in the 1990s
Thou shalt not not LOVE Rick Wakeman.
