A small detail that most people miss: when the quest begins at the gates of Sumeru city, we see a Dusk bird leave its nest. At the end of the quest the last shot is showing that it came back home. The quest's name is "Homecoming"
I remember reading a comment somewhere that compared Apep hating Nahida even after saving her to having someone steal your organs, give it to someone new and then have that new person offer to donate blood to help you recover from another illness. So yeah, from that perspective, I totally get why Apep despises Nahida just for existing.
Shoutout to the editor for all the cool sneak peak intros to the major quests and lore dump, like Perinheri and Caribert., and now here! It's still bizarre to me to think back on this quest, after having experienced the Fontaine story and how deep rooted that storyline is with Celestia and the Dragon Sovereigns, and realise that this was the first time the Sovereigns of old were brought up in game aside from a random SIDE BOOK IN A MISSABLE QUEST, IN THE HIDDEN AREA OF ENKA. This quest brought the Dragons into larger focus at the perfect point before its relevance with Neuvillette and the Divine Thrones. Can't wait to re-experience Fontaine with you again, Arnold!!
Now that I remember, the King Deshret's sacrifice mentioned by the recording of the priest Kasala . . . He may have used his pact with Apep to erradicate part of the forbidden knowledge, this would mean that he wasn't able to errase it, but sealed it inside Apep. Dude.
I want Apep and Neuvillette to meet so much, especially considering his aversion to the desert and her despising humanity and those who side with it... We are overdue on Dragon & Dragon interactions, I'm hoping for at least one in Natlan... Spoilers for 4.7 Archon Quest: Nibelung would be an interesting candidate for Vinster King, don't you think? "Nibelung" is a Germanic & Norse name, which already establishes a connection to Khaenri'ah. Amongst other things, "Nibelung" is used to refer to the King of a mythical land inhabited by dwarfs (and giants). In mythology, a dwarf named Alberich guards Nibelung's treasure. Khaenri'ah in general seem very much inspired by dwarfs (especially with the whole living underground thing) It would also solidify the "Sinners & Dain are the Six Pigmies" theory a bit more

A few days ago I went back to the bridge at the entrance of sumeru city where we found the hydro shrooms, and by coincidence it made me start a 2minute unvoiced quest with nahida, Nur, and the other shroom, where we essentially accompany them and play with them. The dragon sovereigns importance in the AQ’s now makes me think this quest should’ve been mandatory, the Enka event quest should’ve been permanent, and the Enjou world quest should’ve been a voiced interlude. Otherwise Fontaine is the first permanent voiced mention of the sovereigns
Trueeee!!! To me, this could've been a AQ interlude and make the genesis interlude wanderers SQ instead, would've made so much more sense to be personally
18:49 I don't know if you have done this yet, but you can talk to Asenath in the Temple of Silence to learn a bit more about Apep and Amun's relationship back in the days.
"Thank you for protecting with your elemental power. Goodbye... We may never meet again, Greater Lord Rukhhadevata. I will wait for her no matter how long it takes, this is the agreement we made" That line got me, that made me cry for the second time in Nahida's story when Rukhhadevata is involved. It was censored but we know who the Geoshroom was talking about 😢❤ Even in Apep's weakened state she was still huge, back then when she still has her authority and defeat, her appearance was much bigger than the form we saw. She got shrunk because she consumed the power of the abyss/apocalypse.
with this video out and natlan coming soon, I want to bring up a point. Since Enka, the game has slowly intergrated the dragon sovereigns' societal relationship with their respective nation. Starting with Inazuma/Enka, we first learned of their existance from Sun and Moon. Next, in Sumeru, we learn Apep is still alive, but lives secluded in the desert, away from civilization. And last, in Fontaine, we have the Dragon Sovereign alive and secretly living among human society, disguised as one too. Even though Neuvillette said at the end of Act 5 that the sovereigns "wouldn't be welcome" in Natlan, that doesn't exactly mean one couldn't still live there. So Natlan could show us the Pyro Dragon Sovereign alive and living alongside the people/saurians
@@Alex_Deamare u stupid or u think celestia is stupid? If u pay attention to the fontain quest you should know that making a dragon soveraign an archon is basically same as giving them back their full power which phanes obtained at the cost of his own absolute authority.

It's crazy how Nahida telling "I can't remember what it is." right now and Aether literally saying the same thing last night on the archon quests. What a coincidence.
I was shocked at the time seeing Aether being really emotional and protective of Nahida in this entire quest and cant help but wonder if one of the reasons for him being like that was bc he was projecting his hurt from losing his sister onto Nahida and thus being overprotective, also the trauma of seeing Rukkhadevata and Wanderer erase themselves and him being the sole witness, it was probably the start of him showing more of his emotions and thoughts, a big change of him being neutral abt most things and going w the flow that he was before, which is really interesting fr

I'm wondering if you'd enjoy the quests more if you went in completely blind. It's what I've been doing and to me the game has been more fun that way
I can see an argument for this sometimes, but not always. The latest Archon Quest (I won't spoil just in case) would've shocked me more if I'd gone in without seeing the livestream, they really gave too much away. However, with this story quest, it felt fine knowing Apep was going to be relevant to it.
