- And so, it ends....I did it.
With this video, I have officially completed the Heroes in History series! I've done every current hero in the game, and now I only have to do a new one any time a new hero is released...so that's........
I don't even know how to feel about that. I'm both happy and sad at the same time. I'm thrilled to finally have done them all, but it also is a bit melancholy I guess. In any case, this is the Warlord video! This wasn't quite that hard once I got another look at his trailer...it was just finding the underlying details to help narrow things down. - Ігри
As an aspiring historian, I think it’s great what you’re doing here, Raven. I’m not surprised that someone with such a grasp of world history would have a good head on their shoulders, values-wise!
Raven what's funny is that I'm saving a Playlist for every hero from your heroes in history videos by faction and realized the warlord was missing. I put a comment down on your recent livestream about it, and BOOM, you drop the video! Thanks!😂😂
I'm doing the same thing🤣

I am a warlord main. This stuff rings true to the absolute playstyle of warlord. Nowadays he has the new dodge attack but I completely forget that he has it because he doesn’t need it. He is stable and sturdy. I have found ways to counteract guardbreaks by attacking just as they’re about to hit. I have parried enemies while still in full block. I have found ways to cancel and throw attacks in a specific pattern to catch dodging characters. but above all, he. doesn’t. move. He is the shield wall. He is the immobable object. Embody the defense, and you will whether the storm. I started as a conqueror looking for the “tank” archetype of a character, but quickly found warlord fits this archetype. He is an oversized foot soldier. An expert at the simplistics. his best feats are extremely strong borderline overpowered passives for damage and resistances, hp and a self revive. He is the defender. The stronghold.
Remember when raider call warlord a jarl in the story mode that should be a quick hint on why he is a jarl or one of noble status.
Little heads up: in the french translation of the game, the warlord is named "Jarl". Like Raider is called "Hersir"... so.
Interesting.
always found it weird when I switched my game to english, like... why change them ?
@@RandoHrafn American culture
In polish he's called Dróttin and Raider is called Drengr.
I love this channel so much because I love to learn bout history and imagining growing up during these times
Beautiful, it is sad to see this series end but i learned so much from it, thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Wow raven night really delivered god bless your soul man keep can’t wait for the video when new characters drops the 28th
Sutton Hoo helmet would be a great helmet for Warlord
Great breakdown as always, Raven! Here’s hoping that the new Egyptian hero we’re getting later this month is more historically accurate than the most recent additions *cough* PIRATE *cough* 🤧
You should watch his video on pirate. you might learn a thing or too
Considering that the Egyptian Hero was teased as wielding a Double Palm Axe, I dont think the New Hero is gonna be that Historically Accurate
@@Richard-nu4fb I deadass forgot that he had made a video about pirate 😂 It was great, but now I’m wishing that Ubi gave her a weapon more accurate to her region, more in the vein of Tiandi’s Dao…and minus the bottomless “magazine” revolver lmao
@@Blackstonelegion Fair point. At the least, im still holding out for the armor and appearance. I’m super excited at the potential of a Nubian or Sudanese Egyptian hero, but I’m interested in what Ubi is going to do with trait/skin color changing…lock it into one and limit player choice or give us all the current options and we have an albino Sudanese/Nubian/Egyptian 😂
@@christianmumpower5502 Sorry if I sounded like a jerk. It would have been better to do a reload animation and while you have a loaded gun your move set changes, like a hidden stance. I dont mind the sword, makes it more pirate like. Some outfits are very WuLin like though
I love Warlord. He reminds me of both Beowulf and Hrolfr the Walker ( the real Rollo the Walker), my ancestor. So, in honor of one of my favorite classes, I made a character based on Rollo.
i find it lovely that in latin american spanish al teast, warlord is called huscarle.
basically, the royal guard of the scandinavian kings
Love your channel brother all your content and history lessons, I’ve always been inspired and interested in Norse traditions and history. But my only gripe about the Warlord was we didn’t get to have Stigandr Bear hat from the story for the Warlord class
Great video, this really changed my view about warlord.
I love this series you learn something new every video
Top tier content, as always 💪
While this series may have ended (for now, at least this far until the new hero arrives...). Thank you so much Raven for creating these videos of For Honor heroes based on real life warriors and legends. I say this from the deep of my heart as a Medieval History fan myself
When you mentioned warlord doesn't have a dodge attack "yet anyway" you just told the future.
In the french version of the game, Warlords are literally translated as "Jarls".
Did NOT know that the term "Jarl" was the origin for the term "Earl".
So who is left to cover?
No one. I've done everybody now. The next Heroes in HIstory won't be until the new hero comes out.
This is a surpisngly underated series
Love the videos!
For some reason in Spanish (America not from spain) the Warlord in game is called Huscarle
Glad you got this one done raven. If you ever need help getting footage ill try to help
So warlord represents the old value of traditions
You know what raven? You just reminded me that Wahol is named Dróttin in the Polish version which I find quite handy
If Ubi could just recycle assets from AC:Origins and AC:Valhalla we’d have multiple maps and gear customization
That is not going to work out for obvious reasons.
@@dragonbornexpress5650 it’s the same game engine at Ubisoft they could retexture or place older assets like they did with Ezio and Chessare
@@magicman3163. Same engine doesn't equal same amount of effort; That's ignorant at best. For the maps, you can't just plop random locations down and call it a day; Because For Honor is a fighting game with MMO components, those locations would need extra work to establish clear lanes both for the players to go down and to create the barriers of the map with the amount of lanes and barriers, of course, varying depending on the mode the players are in. They'd also have to make sure the maps make actual sense in regards to the setting, especially if they're to be located within either Ashfeld, Valkenheim, The Mire, or the fairly tranquil valleys the Wu-Lin come from; I don't think I need to explain to you how jarring it would be to see 9th century England in The Mire, or how stupid it would be to see Ancient Egypt in Ashfeld. For the gear, it's also not going to work since the armor and weapons would need to be resized and changed in design to fit the culture or group that the devs want to take inspiration from. Bringing up the Assassin's Creed event doesn't work since those were just skins for the Commanders, so it's not the same situation in the slightest.
It's funny because the Dux (Duke) originally held a similar role to a Jarl.
Anyone know what the music in the background is?
This is so good I can't wait for the next Assassin's Creed
The war lord
Even General tullius thinks so
It's hard to believe even the peasant farmers were allowed to own slaves
Hmm, now i wonder... do you have any plans to make a For Honor Legends video about a Warlord?
I do
@@RavenKnightYT nice! Can't wait for it to come out
Jails as Kings is what happened in Skyrim
For obvious reasons. Skyrim itself takes heavy inspiration from Norse mythology, culture, aesthetic, and so much more.
Lord Raven what do u think of red dead redemption 2?

Everything I have ever heard of Ulfberht swords is that they were used by Vikings, and the steel matches the kind of quality you'd only find in the middle east.
Well s*** that explains in Assassin's Creed Valhalla why Harold was glad that Sigerd and Eavor decided to leave
Prostagma?
U own an alligator
Good to know the 2nd amendment applies to old civilization ls as well.
(For those of you I know will get confused by this, I'm talking about the working class vikings being encouraged to carry weapons on them)
The Norse outlook was one of conflict, so it made sense that being armed was fundamental to their way of life.

I appreciate his history, and his ties to where we came, but he is so godamm boring to play imo. This is a video game and there is always room for creativity. I want to see some more over the top armour sets, options for both the history fans and the fantasy fans doesn't hurt.
