Maybe to blow your mind even further, this was likely written much earlier than 1979. A demo for this song exists that was probably recorded in the mid seventies. She likely wrote this song in her mid teens.

I heard that album (Never for Ever) first in 1980 when it came out. I was 12. I've loved it ever since and still play it often.

I love Kate's music although not one of my favorites from her I do love how she imitates a violin with her voice though, those glissandos are absolutely wild.
