    I have the 0-25 version, not up to Mitutoyo standards but quite usable and easier to read in a hurry so you don't miss by 1/2 mm like you can with a standard mic.

      I agree, for industrial mass production Mitutoyo is impossible to beat. I have made thousands maybe millions of measurements with my Mitutoyo instruments over the years.

      Hey Chris,
      I agree, it can't reach the standards of a Mitutoyo or a Starrett, but yes I think that its a bit more accurate than a standard micrometer. Anyway, I'm going to check it better in my next project. Thanks for your comment!
      Cheers

    Great video! how to calibrate to start counting from 25mm?

    • @JimmysCanal
      @JimmysCanal  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks! It is simple, use the standard gage thats comes with the micrometer; if you see any deviation in measurement on the thumb barrel use the small wrench to set the barrel on zero.
      All the best

      Hey Milan,Thanks for your comment, my friend! As I mentioned in other comments, I'll need to check how long will last the batteries; however, I think that's worth to look this micrometer.

    GearBest....so they gave you no less than four free batteries. Well, that's generous of them, some companies don't even give you one free battery. So good job GearBest.
    Good review, good camera work.

      Thanks for your comment! I'm very pleased by its quality, it's really well made. The only thing I need to check while using it, is how long will last the battery!

    Jimmy, I have had this micrometer for several years without a need. Now that I need, I don’t remember how to operate. Ha!
    I have the 25 mm standard set in place on absolute scale. Switch to inches to find 25 mm = 0.98425”. Not bad, eh?
    But I want to measure a .100” standard thickness from my gage block set as a way to learn how to use this tool.
    The instructions, although in quasi-English, don’t help a novice, and I need to make some critical measures on the camshafts of my truck’s engine, RIGHT NOW!
    Where can I find a tutorial?

      Hey Bill,
      I'm sorry for the late reply.
      Unfortunately I don't know any online tutorial about it. The only I can think (perhaps it will help a bit), are these scan and translate applications you can find on the web. Try to translate the Chinese instructions with the application.
      I'm sorry I can't help more.
      All the best
      Jimmy

      @@JimmysCanal thank you for taking the time to respond.
      The supplied front and back of its one page “Operation Instruction” has reasonable English, so as I go through UA-cam videos on how to read micrometers, the way this instrument is supposed to operate is becoming clearer, and it seems to be a worthwhile micrometer.
      However, I believe there is a malfunction that I would like to ask your opinion about. I can set the ZERO (?) of the scale to 25.000 mm using the supplied 25mm gage, and it sits at near 25 mm, but the last two digits bounce around as if it isn’t exactly sure of its measured value. That’s not really a problem, to me.
      But, when I move off the 25 mm provided standard and try to measure a 1” gage block, which should give 25.4 mm, it jumps to some larger number, and then begins to increase in value over time, always increasing, growing ever larger. I cannot make measurements with the digital scale.
      Changed the battery and I got the same result.
      When I default to “manual” mode, the resolution drops by a factor of 10, from 0.0001 mm to 0.001 mm, which is not adequate for measuring my camshafts.
      When you were reviewing that Chinese micrometer 600-8032 Electronic Digital Micrometer 25-50 mm/ 1-2” 0.001 mm / 0.0001”, did you get it into the state I did where it outputs a measure, and then that measure begins to slowly increase without limit? Was that a malfunction or a feature?
      Finally, do you know if there are people who will work on repairing these cheap Chinese micrometers? I hate to think it’s just a throwaway.
      I am on my way to Harbor Freight, where my brother just found a three manual micrometer set that covers 0-3”.

      @JimmysCanal  Рік тому

      I didn't saw any problem-malfunction while reviewing this micrometer (I'm still using it and it has not showed any problem).
      I know that brands like, Starrett and Mitutoyo have repairing service or authorized representatives to do so, but I don't know if it's worth to spend money for a cheap digital micrometer like this.

      @@JimmysCanal thanks for the info, Jimmy. I’m about to agree that it’s not going to get repaired here in the US. At a resolution of only 0.001 mm, its manual function is no better than a caliper. Wish me luck on finding that Harbor Freight 3 piece manual set that covers 3” at resolution of 0.0001” he said for $45.
