Have you really broken a rod between the cork and the first guide? Must be doing something seriously wrong. Totally fine to apply a little extra pressure like that
Great video, man! I’m glad that you caught some, last time I took a trip to the Kern I skunked, but that was below Fairview Dam. Looking forward to more videos!
@@WhatUpDoe1000 I’m still learning alot about fly fishing. Biggest mistake I made in the past in other rivers is not getting deep enough when nymphing. Just make sure you’re getting your flies down to the fish! I love tightline nymphing because your in control of your flies the entire time. Thanks for tuning in!
How do you keep your line from falling back through the eyelets on the rod? I’m new to fly fishing and every time my line slides back through the eyes and piles up in front of me unless I have a bunch of line out.
I am usually using a technique called euronymphing and I use a long mono leader to tight line nymphs. I will be doing a how to video on this technique soon! Thanks for watching. And hope you enjoy fly fishing as much as I do!
Great video Zach, love the Kern, great technique

Nice video, great catches🙌🔥

The “mighty Kern”! Good one!
Awesome video. Those were some quality, gorgeous fish 🤙🏾
Awesome! A good way to break a rod is to use left hand on the rod. Keep hands on the cork.

Cool video, I have the exact same set up as you and I replaced my fly line with a Rio gold, turns that rod into a beast. Cheers mate!
Good job Zach, Enjoyed your video.

Great video bro!
Great video. What leader and tipper were you using here?
@@WhatUpDoe1000 was euro nymphing with a long mono 8lb leader to a tippet ring and 5x tippet.
@zachangler6994 Awesome thanks, ive been up there twice with no luck, might have been using the wrong lines/tippet.

Great video, those are my go to spots at Upper Kern above the bridge. Do you use 9' 5wt rod as Euro nymphing rod? Impressive.
Thanks for tuning in! Yes I do indeed use a 9’ 5wt for EuroNymphing, new setup soon!
