    I own an Aprilia and can say the performance is excellent. The fancy electronics work very well. That said, it's a 2022 and has been in the shop for warranty work twice already. There is something to be said for the reliability of a Japanese bike.

      I would love a 660 but the closest dealer is 2 or 3 hours away and I'm not dealing with that if I need warranty work. I like both of these bikes though

    I have the cbr650r.
    I can tell you that you don’t need most of the electronics on a +-100hp bike.
    I can give full throttle from 0 and the bike won’t wheelie or lose traction.
    + i’d like the screaming high rpm sound of the 4-cilinder.
    I removed the dB killer in the akrapovic and the sound is lovely 👌🏻

      My Ninja 650 will wheelie in 1st gear or 2nd gear if you twist the throttle from roughly idle to 100% instantly.

      If you cant wheelie at full throlltle from 0 with that bike, then you are doing something wrong. Even my Ninja300 could pop a wheelie from 0.

      @@cheetor18I’m sure the Aprilia is a great bike but with motorcycles Honda’s reliability is still legendary. Even the “respected” guys on UA-cam that hate Hondas will still tell you if your main concern is will it always run go with a Honda.

    I had exactly this dilemma and decided to go for Aprilia.
    Honda is cool, don't get me wrong - but I could spend more, and get more. CBR seemd, by comparison, too similar to the bikes I rode before. Nice, reliable, but lacking some useful stuff I've seen on Aprilia.

    I have own CBR650R with Akaprovick. I just back from Test drive of RS660, To be honestly Aprilia is working excellence on this bike.
    All function that RS660 provided is awesome, The performance and electronic system is good enough for daily or track use.
    If the price in your country not that much difference RS660 is a good choice.
    however, please try to test ride for both bikes, it will help you decide which is suit for you.
    For some country maintenance cost one of both might very high and less service center. Please be aware on this as well.

      I picked the Aprilia I wanted something more exotic and I could pay the high price tag, many riders won’t admit it but it’s the cost that makes then walk away for the RS660 that bike is just a notch better performance wise than the Honda considering the weight, power, style, electronics and don’t even get me started on the auto blip and cruise control 😅

    No doubt RS660 is more expensive than the CBR but for 1600 dollars more, you get a lot more bike in terms of HP, torque, features, electronics, suspension adjustability, better brakes. If i'm in the market for on of these, it's an easy choice to make, the Aprilia every time.

      @No_Name coz that lawn mower sound you describe? It's 180 crank that sound similar to a lawn mower, not a v-twin or a 270 crank that mimic a v-twin. People actually love the v-twin sound and the 270 crank like the Yamaha Mt range engines. It is not relevant to you coz you don't know what talking about. Also, 360 cranks engines sound different too. You'd probably never ridden any bikes coz if you had, you would know the difference.

      The fact that Honda CBR600RR has more horsepower than both CBR650R & RS660 despite having smaller engine capacity shows that engine tuning and engineering matters a lot. CBR650R is made to be comfortable enough for daily while having enough sporty design. RS660 is more on the sporty side (while not 100% supersport), even the compression ratio is higher than CBR650R.

    I bought an aprilia, and was happy the two first weeks. When it works, it s a great bike. But its been riddled with issues. Everytime i get it back from the garage, a new issue arise few days after.

    The cbr looks nice but for the extra electronics and adjustable suspension(not sure why all new bikes don't have this)I'd pay that little bit more for the lighter, quicker 660.

      I see the adjustable suspension as being pointless for the average rider. IF you are extremely tall, or extremely short or race its useful, otherwise its pointless.

      @@loftyintentions1985 To be honest 2000 bucks is a lot to pay, especially if you want them in A2, then I'd buy the Honda, its more beginner friendly. I am looking at these 2 for my first bike and the one thing that really is making me go towards Honda is reliability. The electronics are cool but the Honda looks just as good, on A2 has the same power pretty much, only thing is that its heavier, but therefor its more reliable and costs A LOT less, probably also cheaper to ensure. And that 4 cylinder sound too....

      @@eliteiel9747 yeah, the only downside of the honda is weight and I see all kinds of reliability issues on the aprillia ranging from oil leaks to engine shut offs in 5th gear. The Honda looks good on screen and even better for real but for me(being purely a sportbike rider)I'd need that full adjustable suspension and I think it should be available on all fully sport and naked sportbikes. The extra you'd pay for the rs 660 is still cheaper than swapping honda forks to fully adjustable if that's what you decided to to in the future. I'd love a 650r as a second to my gsxr, just for commute and long distance riding but I'd also want that adjustability. Oh and yeah, you can't beat the sound of a 4 cylinder.

      ​@@eliteiel9747being realistic, the only downside of the rs 660 is that its make is aprilia, if there was a japanese-made model just like the rs 660, it would be the best A2 bike hands down, this bike can get up to 110ps or more by spending about 3-4k more in exhaust + flash + some minor changes in airbox + imu dampening (due to issues with vibrations and/or bumps) and u still have all of the electronic aids if u need/want them for hard riding

    Due to shipping cost, the 660 in my country has the MSRP of that of the RSV4 Factory in the US, excluded taxes. And the dealership network isn't as good as Honda's so CBR all the way

    Man I think you made a mistake in the minute 5 and 43 sec, you are saying the: "cbr with its longer stroke an shorter gear ratio" but.. the cbr has a shirt stroke, that is why it revs high and the gearing is not that short, also how could the Honda have an advantage between 4000 and 6000 rpm, we all know that 4 cilinders come alive pass 7000 rpms

    I test drove the RS660. Beautiful motorcycle - like almost all Italian - but unfortunately just too little cubic. You have to turn properly on the gas tap until there is something going forward - as with all 600cc...

    Although aprillia is the best looking bike with more features but every feature becomes secondary when it comes to engine where cbr beats it.
    Inline 4 cylinder bikes sounds so beast❤
    And it's cheaper whereas both the bikes are overpriced but if someone has to give more money they could purchase ninja 1000sx
    It's best in every aspect 👍
    Hope Honda will realise it soon and add those fancy features to it with the same price tag

Seems pointless to me just go cbr600 at that point and actually get an upgrade in something otherwise rs660 outclasses it heavily with all its features and power even if its just a twin

      @@no_name4080 seen them side by side. Rs hits max power earlier and pulls ahead. By the time the cbr even hits top speed and starts closing the gap it really doesnt even matter. It has about a 10mph top speed difference but takes longer to get to it. So sure it might win on a 3 mile freeway run MAYBE lol but in any real world application not really.
      Top speed really means fuck all unless all you like to do is squid on the freeway, and if it really matters that much just get a cbr600 or any other 600cc super sport. Bc with the cbr 650 youre getting all the bad of the inline four without the top end pull.
      Edit: also you dont really need a QS just clutchless shift lol newer bikes have transmissions that make it pretty safe. I do it on my 2022 mt 07 all the time when im going for speed

      I think you're wrong in assuming that people only pick the Honda because of its lower price. They are two vastly different bikes that each have their advantages and disadvantages.
      The Aprilia is a 2 cylinder. A LOT of riders want a 4 cylinder. Plus the Honda feels extremely nimble despite its weight. It's also quite a bit more comfortable than the Aprilia, and it's incredibly smooth. The Aprilia vibrates a ton through all rev ranges, while the Honda is buttery smooth.

      @@no_name4080 Well Iam 22 years old and I bought a BMW S1000 R with 165 hp as my first bike because of that reason. I was looking at the Aprilia RS 660 before but 100 hp are nice to start with but it just isn’t enough to make me happy over a long time. And than I discovered the BMW and iam more than happy with my choice. Although the BMW had a price tag of 20 K. 😅

      @@no_name4080 Well the acceleration is quite funny with 165 hp on a 199 kg bike. 😂 I don’t make 100 K a year. BMW offers very nice financial options. I only pay 150 euros a month for about 3 years for that bike. Which given the high price tag is more than fair in my opinion.

      If they both drove once they would never write such rubbish!
      both are the same size and seating position almost identical.
      difference is, the Aprilia is much more agile and equipped with everything a tourer needs! the Honda has nothing 😂
      So if they had both ridden, they would know that the sound of the Aprilia is terrific. Both rev up almost the same. However, Aprilia is doing better below. In addition, it is lighter, full of security and cruise control, chassis for touring. If I were to take a bike for a tour, the Aprilia is a much better choice. The honda is good but old and boring in comparison just like the standard sound.

      Do you want to be faster with less HP/NM and more weight 🤣🤣?
      This is technically impossible.
      The RS 660 creates up to 235GPS/245Tacho in 100HP Version.
      No Honda can match this GPS speed under normal conditions.
      My friend is at least 20km/h slower with his 650R.
      Unfortunately, many speedometers at Honda seem to deviate greatly from the GPS.
      Honda CBR650R top speed is normal 230 it is around 212 GPS.
      you seem to watch too many unrealistic videos 😉😉

      ​@@williamdavis4809 i have RS 660 and Tuono 660. Tuono run max 240/230GPS. RS660 run max 245/235GPS.
      No Honda CBR 650R run under normal condition so fast!
      If you have more weight and less power it is technically impossible to be faster.
      My friend is lighter than me and his 650R is significantly slower in comparison.
      CBR650R is Good reliable nice bike but just boring for me. too heavy and it feal like a bike like from 1990.
      208kg, that's what 1000s with 200HP weigh 🤦‍♂🤦‍♂
      in the permit standing RS 660 - 230km/h / CBR 650 R - 197km/h

      CBR650R is a sportbike, but not a supersport like 600RR and the Fireblade. It's in the same category as the RS660 and R7.

      ​@@saiprasadmaharana7654 not a sport tourer. Your definition of sport tourers is poor. One easy way to figure out if a bike is a sport tourer is by looking at it's handlebars, sport tourer uses handlebars while sportbike use clip-ons(see Ninja 1000SX handlebars vs Ninja 650)

    For 1600 dollars more youre getting more horse power, more torque, a shit ton more electronics including a quick shifter and autoblipper and electronics that come on a 18k+ bike. Thats a steal. If only they made a version with less electronics and kept the shifter upgrades and sold it a couple grand cheaper… its blow all the other bikes in its class out the water

    Yes, aprillia seems to be better all around, but I can see the damn ground through the bike in sideview (wide huge holes in its body) and that 125cc scooter sound of inline two... no amout of features compensates such atrocity

    I see a lot of people believe in the bullshit that Italian bikes are overpriced unreliable shitboxes. Couldn't be further from the truth. Italian and German bikes have come a long way from the unreliable overpriced trash that was put out over 20 years ago.
    Yes, Japanese bikes are known for their reliability. However, they're also known for being some of the most boring bikes around with exceptions to Yamaha and suzuki. If I had the $$ right, I'd buy a Ducati or Aprilia right and ride it the same as the others out there.
