  • I was invited by the Thai government to explore the rice culture in Thailand and visited a rice field where I got to try planting and harvest rice and then enjoy a rice themed feast! This was part of the Think Rice Think Thailand Champaign.

And here in the states they throw rice at weddings! My parents went nuts when they attended a interracial wedding and they threw rice. They literally started picking them up. 😂 My Dad was like why would they waste food. 😂😂 He came from a very poor family in Vietnam and my mother is from Laos with ancestors. So coming to America was quite a culture shock. 😂😂
Pair papaya salad with pad Thai. It goes well together.

This episode made my soul smile. I love to be able to see people experience other cultures, because I will likely never get to myself, though I would love to so much. I've always had a deep seated desire to travel, but never had the opportunity to, even where I live. The furthest I've ever traveled is Florida (from Texas).
