She says zombie in the subbed version i saw. But she did also say "how can i ask him to hold this dead body? How can i ask him to kiss my cold lips?" Which I thought was incredibly vivid imagery, it stayed with me.
I've seen some people think that Sayaka is being irrational or overly emotional for feeling like she's dead already from being a magical girl, and feeling like she's not worthy of being with Hitomi. I wonder why those people are even watching the anime, if they are not interested in empathizing with the characters? Sure, if hitomi knew, he probably wouldn't see sayaka as any lesser, since shes still the same person. But the fact that she was tricked into having her soul ripped out of her body and have her nature completely changed to become a tool is obviously something pretty traumatic- Its understandable that it'd mess with the way she sees herself and make her feel terrible about herself.
@milesgwatidzo9267That's unfair. Yeah, Sayaka had time to think about it, but she was under emotional stress throught all that time. Mami had just died, and in her eyes Mitakihara had lost its "guardian". Plus, Kyosuke lashed out at her (even though she kept visiting him) and she felt hopeless. All of this while being a what, a 13 year old girl? Kyubey took advantage of her when she was at her lowest. Sure, he did tell her that she'd have to trade her soul, but depending on his wording one could have assumed that it was a form of speech, which meant she'd have to fight witches until she died, not that her soul would be literally ripped from her body, because Mami never mentioned something like that whenever a girl makes a contract.
Agreed. Forget being a traumatized, heartbroken 14 yo girl like Sayaka, if I learn that I got scammed by an alien into transforming to a walking corpse who was at risk of turning into a weapon of mass destruction everytime I feel sad I would get a meltdown too lol
Kyubey's seen this descent into madness plenty of times before. It'll only be a matter of time before the energy is ready to be harvested Plus she's with Madoka a lot, Kyubey's biggest bounty yet
He’s like a pimp, idol producer, record label, boxing promoter, or modeling agent. He takes the young and impressionable their dreams and crews them up and spits them out like trash. He’s been doing this a long time and he’s very good at it.
This is why I love Sarah Anne Williams. She’s a great voice actress with a good sense of humor and she isn’t afraid to smile or to make others happier. That and she’s amazing at handling emotional scenes like this.
This scene. This is when I truly understood. The Mami scene was sad, but seeing Sayaka's slow descent into despair could have only ever ended one way. Best story in the show. "how can i ask him to hold this dead body? How can i ask him to kiss my cold lips?" was incredibly vivid imagery, it stayed with me.
This anime broke me. I was sobbing at the end of it, it was 1 in the morning, and I was bawling my eyes out. I cried for like 20 minutes before calming down. I cried multiple times throughout. I specifically remember the scene that broke me the hardest was minor, but it hurt. The scene that broke me was the scene at the end of the anime when Junko (Madoka's Mom) was talking to Homura, and complimented her ribbons, and said "If I had a daughter, I'd have her wear something like that" IT BROKE ME, IT BROKE ME A LOT. Honestly, The Different Story manga broke me a lot too. Read it, it tells about Mami and Kyoko's past. I had to come downstairs and tell my parents about it while still crying.
such a sad part in the show she finds out hta she is tehcnaily dead and is curesed to relive this momet and the same wish over and over gain, her love is one thta she will never be able ot have even with kyko she not only lost kysosuke but she loses kyko a good frined who she regtedd not being able to get on the roght foot wiht and later on pushes madoka away when she tries to help slowly giviing in ti the depsair thta has been eating away at her for years, it just so sad .
@@Gooberwares In the PSP games she told her everything and he responded by playing a violin song for her on his CD(since he was still in the hospital I believe) and saying he'd happily be her boyfriend.

I find the English dub for this anime to be pretty underrated. I first saw this anime in English and I think it's pretty good. The voices are just so fitting imo (Kyoko is the worst with English sub imo, the dub did her much better).
I think Kyoko’s sub voice is fine, but it sounds way too much like Sayaka’s. At least in the dub, you can clearly differentiate the voices, and they’re both quite fitting too. I do agree that the dub voice for Kyoko is more fitting though.
Disagree with Kyouko's JP voice being the worst, I personally think it suits her tomboyish personality and it's pretty much one of her greatest appeals
@@reimei84 well, Madoka and Sayaka and Homura were 14 when they made their contract unsupervized of any adult with Kyuubey. Kyoko did it also before them as well and Mami did it while being a single digit child!.. (and while Kyoko did it without her parents knowing till too late, mami did it after her family had died.)
If I remember correctly, in the Japanese script, she said "I'm a corpse pretending to be alive". Better line than "I'm a zombie".
While I like the JP and ENG dubs, I agree with you. That line is more impactful.
That line is from the episode after this one. In the bus shelter after the Witch fight, when she loses her temper at Madoka.
No. She clearly said on the Japanese script as ゾンビだもん(I'm a zombie)
She says zombie in the subbed version i saw. But she did also say "how can i ask him to hold this dead body? How can i ask him to kiss my cold lips?" Which I thought was incredibly vivid imagery, it stayed with me.
“I’m a walking corpse”
It's so painful to watch Sayaka slowly realize she was duped into a bad deal and can't escape her fate.
@milesgwatidzo9267true
So it's a magical girl MLM?
There are few things more tragic than seeing a genuinely well-meaning and innocent person destroyed by her own good intentions.

This is the funniest comment. 🤣 Hitomi is the girl, the boy’s name is Kyousuke.
She was told that she'd give her soul for fighting witches, and she never would've known that her soul was out of place if she never lost her gem

Who asked?
@Gordonfreeman551 I'm referring to the video and you dont need to be mean for no reason.
I just realized how creepy that Kyubey is in this scene. It's like he's observing the results of his handiwork.
