very useful, thank you! Could I ask you: how did you fluff the compressed fibre up after drying please? TIA!

Thank you so much for a great tutorial! Quick question - where did you get your supplies - Bottles & fleece?

DarjeelingTea The squeeze bottles I got from Harbor Freight, fleece you can get just about anywhere, I think I got that fleece locally, but I know Paradise Fibers has undyed fleece, just google it and you should be able to find undyed or natural fleece. There are a lot of varieties.

Where did you find the rack that fits in the pan?

How do the food dyes compare to acid dye? Is it as permanent as acid dyes?

Hi Elaine, I have found that yarn dyed with food dyes tend does tend to fade over time. I have a couple pairs of socks that I made with yarn that was dyed with food dyes, and they have faded quite a bit. If this bothers you, then I would stick to making items that you would need to wash less often like a shawl.

Are the food dyes color safe? Do they fade?

In some cases yes, I have found that the easter egg pellets have faded, as well as some of the Koolaid colors. It just depends on how often you wash. Both of these were on socks that get washed after ever wear. For something like a shawl that wouldn't need to be washed your probably wouldn't even notice a difference.
