I know her for almost eight years now. I have been watching her walk towards her goal of becoming the World Champion of Public Speaking. There were years when she could not finish at the top 3 even at District Level. But she persisted and prepared. Never let the goal out of her focus. Every year she came-up with a brand new speech, new techniques in speech delivery, fresh humor and importantly a new take-home message. A call to action, to make us think and become a better person, if we followed what she said using simple anecdotes from her personal life. Sharing with us, in about seven and half minutes and 800 words, what she saw, what she felt and what she learnt knowing that if it helped her, it will help us too. Because we are all part of the humanity that she is part of. She swiped away her past failures to reach her goal of becoming the WCPS at the Toastmasters International Speech Contest, in which thousands compete across the world, each with a different message and a call to action, for that coveted title. It is a long journey from club to area to division to district to region to the Final six. Doing that year after year is a grueling task. But, enjoyable if you have that unwavering focus to give your best and improve on the best again and again and again. Last night Nisha has gone closer to the title and just missed it by a whisker. With her speech titled SWIPE she impressed all and became the WCPS runner-up. Yeh! She is now World No.2. Great example for perseverance and the never-say-die approach. Knowing her, I an certain this year’s Final will be another beginning for her. I am sure she will be there in the Finals next year, with another speech and another message to set her hands on that trophy and be the No.1 in World Championship of Public Speaking. Congratulations Nisha Shivram!
Throughout my time in Qatar, I was fortunate enough to become acquainted with Nisha. Her approach to life was undeniably exceptional, characterized by an outstanding attitude and an impressive aptitude. Furthermore, while I was residing in the MENA region, I had the pleasure of observing her participate in competitions at different levels. I offer my heartfelt prayers that Allah leads her down the path to realizing all her dreams. Her speech was genuinely inspiring, filled to the brim with priceless wisdom for life.
I loan a hug to you from the Bank of Humanity. I know you will pass it on. Thank you for your lovely speech and the reminder to use what we have to positively impact others and not waste it🤝
This is a fabulous speech . The words “swipe” and “card” of humanity, will be in the listeners hearts for ever, to have a positive impact upon them and fellow life traveler’s! Congratulations Nisha!!
Nisha, your speech was an absolute masterpiece! You nailed every moment with your inspiring message and the card as a metaphor. It was undoubtedly the best speech that left a lasting impact on all of us. Well done!"
Nisha eres poderosa, enorme, te admiro. Agradezco poder disfrutar esta participación en vivo. Felicidades!!! Nisha you are powerful, enormous, I admire you. I appreciate being able to enjoy this live participation. Congratulations!!!
This is just another one of your masterpieces. Its so amazing how you are always original and innovative in content. Congratulations Madam Queen Speaker. You've always been my idol and you will always be. Keep rocking the world!
Agree, sadly… they picked theater over speech content. I have seen speeches better than the first place at lower competition level. TM contest judging is really just a random lucky draw. You can be the one delivering the best speech in the contest, and you don’t even placed 3rd. Seen that numerous times at my local contest areas. They have a bunch of untrained judges who just judge based on their own subjective feeling. So, you just need luck to make it through. Lol.
@@terrie001 can’t agree more. Last year, I was competing at club level and I even didn’t get to top 3. Because of 2 winner speakers are not eligible to attend the area level. I joined the area level and got the championship at area level.
Congratulations, Nisha. Well done. I wish you the success in your Life Journey. You'll accomplished in the Mindset what ever you wished for. I like your perseverance and persistent efforts to get to this LEVEL.
🎉 congratulations, But why drama and acting, 😮is that required for speaking. What a wrong interpretation of a speaking skills demanded Good speakers will be lost in this drama acting. This isn't a public speaking
It’s amazing how TM continues to advocate and encourages these over the top, exaggerated theatrical motivation speeches. Year in and year out. I wrote this on the winning speech and then saw that I can just c/p here and it will still be the truth.

the camera angle could have been better!!

🎉 congratulations,
But why drama and acting, 😮is that required for speaking.
What a wrong interpretation of a speaking skills demanded
Good speakers will be lost in this drama acting.
This isn't a public speaking
the play-acting is a unwelcome distraction...
I didn’t notice it so much as the winners speech.
This reminded me of Lance Miller. ua-cam.com/video/uYVXNafMxgo/v-deo.html

I agree but I felt this speech did connect more than the winner, for me anyway. Swipe! 😂
2nd place winner?? No way, TM Nisha should have been the 2023-2024 Champion
Congratulations!
Congrats Nisha! District 38
