  • Create a Collage Grid in Photoshop. Learn how to divide a document into a number of small rectangles and then how to fill your grid with images. This collage grid is simple to make and to use and it is fast enough to create that you can do it very quickly when you know how to do so.
    You can use any photos in this collage and it can be made and sized to be used as a Facebook or Twitter topper or for a website banner. It can also be used for Facebook posts and for Pinterest.

    At minute 10:18, I have followed the directions, added the stroke, but my stroke doesn't appear on the picture as yours does on the flower picture. When I move the picture aside, the stroke has been applied to the rectangle color underneath, but I cannot get it to appear on the photo on top of the colored rectangle. I must be missing something.

    When I create clipping mask the photo disappears, despite being on the top of the colour layers. Anyone help?

    Helen, what should I do if i need to send a big print of this, lets say 1.80mts x 1.50 how should I set the properties???
    Thanks

      Because you’re working in Photoshop you’ll need to make sure that you start with a file that is big enough before you begin. For example a file which is 6 feet wide needs to be created at somewhere between 150 and 300 pixels per inch which would be 150 to 300 pixels for every one of the 72 inches that your file would be wide. You’ll need to do the math but you are best to work start with a file that size to begin with. Otherwise if you try to scale things up too much you’re going to get very pixelated edges. Photoshop is pretty unforgiving in this sense. You could start with a file half the size you need and then increase its size before saving but you won’t want to be starting with a file too much smaller. I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any more questions.

    I am so frustrated. Please help me! I just went through the whole process and finished my beautiful collage. The only problem is, that when i zoom in on the whole collage, the whole thing isn't clear at all. Its very pixelated :( :( What do i do to get it to look like they really do??

    • @HelenBradley
      @HelenBradley  6 років тому +1

      Elizabeth - what size is your document and how big do you want it to be when printed and what zoom % are you using. If you create a document at print size and a resolution of around 150px per inch then zoom into 100% to see what it will look like. If you are at a higher zoom you will see pixelation which might not appear in the printed version.

    This was excellent. Thank you! Is there any way to save the grid, without images, as a template, so that you can simply drag/drop different images into it to create another collage?

    • @HelenBradley
      @HelenBradley  6 років тому

      Allegra, if you can remember the process you could save the image at the 4:15 mark in the video - just add the lines layer that you make towards the end to it. Then with the lines and the color boxes you have all you need to make another collage. You just need to remember the clipping process. Alternately you could replace each image with a placeholder like a colored shape with "image placeholder' written on it (or even instructions as to how to replace the image in the placeholder) and do it that way. It just depends on how much you remember of the replacement process.
      I hope this helps? Let me know if you have further questions.

    Unable to make the borders black with the steps mentioned. It remains white. Can someone assist?

    • @HelenBradley
      @HelenBradley  4 роки тому

      Were you able to make your layer at the top of the layer stack with the image on it? Did that work. Now select it and use the Magic Wand tool to select the white. Make Black your Foreground color and press Alt + Backspace on the PC (Option + Delete on the Mac). If this doesn't work, use the Paint Bucket to fill the selection with Black. There is no reason I can think of that will cause this not to work. If you still have problems, you may send me your file to check for you. My email address is helen@helenbradley.com
      Please use a free service like wetransfer.com to send the file as it will be too big to email.

      @@HelenBradley Hi..thanks for your reply. I created a layer at the top...that works.. Magic Wand tool is also able to select the white borders correctly...Made black as foreground colour...but Alt+Backspace doesnt change white borders to black..
      will try again today..if it doesnt work, will email that collage...thanks again

    • @HelenBradley

      If Alt + Backspace doesn't work, try the Paint Bucket tool instead.
      Otherwise, as you say, email it to me to check it for you.
