Yes.. I'm having steering issues with mine too. No matter what I try, many others also tried, it just wouldn't stay full locked on one side..keeps spinning out on the left. There's so much steering play. If U had same issues, I'd love to see how U solved it. I'm almost giving up..

It was very frustrating! I’ll write a better response back in a couple hours once I’m home👍🏼

Tell me about it....3 diff people have tried to rebuilt it for me..from gyro wobbles to uneven steering.. They just couldn't get it to fully lock on one side... having to always fight with counter steering on one side is painful when the other direction is perfect...
Thanks man, I'll wait to hear your comments... hopefully it doesn't involve changing to rhino racing as the only solution haha... I'd rather just build another chassis altogether

The gyro wobbles/ shake is something Im still dealing with but I'm fairly certain on mine that its coming from the motor revving. So its vibrating the chassis, Im gonna do some test with different foams to see if that helps. Ill probably make a video in the next few days about it.
As far as the chassis issues I found. If I set my gyro end points at full lock, the long threaded screws on the hub that touch the inner arm actually dig in and make the suspension lock out. I had to back off the endpoint so it was just barely off lock and that I think helped with some of the spinning out.
As far as the steering system thats best as a whole setup I have mixed feelings but really want to do some test. I honestly dont think buying the yokomo slide rack, and a guy at the track today told me the same when he was showing me his Yd-2zx. I have a feeling that a Rhino Racing DDSS, which is sold as a separate part from the "shark" converstion and only $99 would fit perfectly on a plastic Yd-2 chassis, and be far superior to the yokomo high end slide rack assembly that's around double that price.
The Shark conversion was also me wanting some purple flare lol.
      Whats your setup right now?

I'm running a Hw ESC+13.5T motor with omgv4 servo, reveD rest servo and bigbore shocks. The chassis and everything is stock 2Z.
I even tried RR mounting my motor and that made the car perform even worse so I'm back to stock position.
I even tried removing that screw U mention completely so it wouldn't catch anything or hit anything but that just locks the wheels up at full lock and yes..my EPA is also set lower to prevent this..but now it sometimes full lock and sometimes doesn't..and even at full lock, the moment I put any pressure on the car, the left wheel just comes out of full lock by flexing.. The right however has no issues and stays full lock at all times.
I tried all the diff mounting holes, tried different cambers and akerman etc and still the left just won't stay at full lock.
It's come to a point where when I have a left turn, I have to be so conservative to prevent spin outs but on a right turn, I can easily full lock and full throttle through the bend no issues

@@spinworkxroy Thats a sold setup from what I have learned but that so unfortunate that you keep having that same issue. Have you tried a different gyro? or do you have access to a friend who will let you test one out?
I was having a very similar problem and it ended up being my gyro causing it. I know how expensive this stuff is so I wouldn't want you to spend money incase it doesn't fix it but if you know someone maybe try that.
My first gyro was defective and I ended up getting it swapped for the same exact gyro but the second one worked perfectly. And I was to get the yd2z running honestly really well minus some weird wheel shakes from the slop, but overall consistent driving.

Hello. I have a yd2 ac rtr with only an upgraded motor and esc. What do you think I should upgrade next?

    • @SeanLewisMedia
      @SeanLewisMedia  7 місяців тому +1

If you dont have your own radio I would probably start there. Upgrading from the RTR radio to a higher quality one will be the most beneficial thing in the beginning. After that I would suggest a new gyro, I prefer the Yokomo V4 but that would be another great upgrade too your car. The servo could also be inline with the gyro and will add a lot of precision and control to your car.

@@SeanLewisMedia thank you. Any recommendations for gyros and servos? I’ve heard certain gyros might not work with my original servo. Also I’d prefer not to spend a huge amount of money on them

@@Prepyism I really like the V4 for a gyro, Im currently running the Reve D RSST Servo and it cost about the same as the gyro which are both on the mid end of the market. I know they are not cheap but they are all I have experience with.
I have tried the PowerHD stuff to save money and it ended up costing me more in the long run. I friend one of there servos somehow and the gyro just never worked right. The nicer gyros make the servos work harder so using a higher end gyro doesnt go well with the really budget or rtr servos. Its kinda of a tough spot but you dont need to spend crazy money like some setups you see.
      Hope this helps!
