  • In this video, I, Aditya and Ekansh discuss our approach towards clearing our MRCS exams together. As you would know, being old friends, we booked and prepared for the exam at the same time. This allowed us to study and practice for Part B together - which is a key component in clearing exams , ie, having a study partner.
    We hope to help our fellow doctors in understanding and approaching the exam.

      Hi Vivek. To be honest for me it was mostly using pastest mcqs, doing then on my 24 hour night on call shifts in the casualty at safdarjung and taking a couple of days leave prior to exam to revising the mcqs. However other resources are there too, and I found s lot of it is repeat from gen surgery syllabus from MBBS days. However we are planning to make a roadmap for part a soon, with a structured approach.

      Once cleared, you need not take it again. You must pay the yearly subscription to the RCS though.

    Hello doctors - it’s a very informative video - I have done Mch in urology in India and I am looking for a training or job in UK . How will MRCS help or is there way I can get into their training without doing MRCS or FRCS ?

    • @EkanshDebuka
      @EkanshDebuka  2 роки тому

      Hi Dr Sinha, Training jobs are available on the website - NHSjobs. A quick google search will take you to the link and you can type in your filters to search accordingly.
      We have discussed on ways to get into the NHS - MTI / Mch courses / Reg jobs / Fellowships. Each with their own pros and cons and requirements.
      Please take some time to go through our other videos and you'll get a better sense of how things are. Any other specific questions, please email us at yourmentor121@gmail.com. Our team will pick it up and get back to you ASAP.

    Have you seen people passing MRCS during their 12 Months internship after MBBS??

    • @EkanshDebuka
      @EkanshDebuka  2 роки тому

      You could do it but it wouldn't afford any real benefit to rush into it. It's better to get some practical experience and then give it.
      However, it might be an option to give the Part A during internship if one is confident enough !

    Do all jobs in nhs after clearing Mrcs ask for experience? I am an intern in India planning to take mrcs after my internship. How much clinical knowledge is necessary for part b of mrcs? Is it better if we do a surgical oriented job in India and then take up mrcs?

    • @EkanshDebuka
      @EkanshDebuka  2 роки тому +1

      If you're to do the MRCS, it's ideal to do it after some experience in a surgical job at least. Post internship level, your better off pursuing the PLAB route instead

    hello brother...just wanted to know for orthopedic surgery plab rout is better or MRCS..which one will be better for me as im about start intern now

    • @EkanshDebuka
      @EkanshDebuka  3 роки тому

      Hi Sansar,
      Both are options. PLAB lets you enter at post med school level in the UK and then work towards applying for a training number eventually. With the MRCS, after an MS degree, you can apply at training number level directly.
      Take some time to understand the system as it is very different to that in India and it will help you make a choice better.

      We've spoken at length about this in another video, do have a look.
      In short - it's variable depending on who, where you're working with, what rapport you can establish and your own skill level.

    Is it true that Surgeons are scrapped off from the title of a Dr. once they complete their training in UK ?

    • @EkanshDebuka
      @EkanshDebuka  3 роки тому +1

      Yeah, but it's not a scrapping technically. It's a matter of pride for surgeons to be called MR. (Surname).

    Hello sir,i m an orthopaedic resident in india . Is it difficult to clear mrcs ? Is it more inclined towards general surgery aspects?

    • @EkanshDebuka
      @EkanshDebuka  3 роки тому +1

      Hi Vignesh, nothing is easy and nothing is impossible. If you put your mind it, its doable. The fact that you are an orthopaedic resident in India means you are well endowed with the qualities needed to clear MRCS if you are willing to put in the effort.
      It does have Gen surgery aspects but its touching up on things you read in MBBS.
