Unnamed Memory Episode 1 Review - Great first episode! Prince proposes to witch! My thoughts!

This first episode was great. It is one of those episodes that makes you want to watch the second one no matter what. Which is good because that means it did something right. I was planning on reviewing this anime before the season even started because the synopsis and promotional trailer seemed very good. Glad to see that both things were actually true in the sense that it was as good as it appeared to be. So, the story is basically about Oscar Farsas, our main male protagonist, trying to find a solution to cure / get rid of a curse that the Witch of Silence placed on him. Because of that he goes to the tower where the Witch of the Azure Moon resides trying to get her to help him. The reason he does that it because apparently whoever gets to climb to the top of the tower get his wish granted. Although we later find out that thanks to Tinasha's kindhearted nature, she even helps out people who don't get to the top.
Unfortunately for Oscar, Tinsha cannot lift the curse because apparently curses work in weird ways. They can be very complex and change depending on who was the one who placed it. Interestingly enough, she mentions that it is actually a blessing. This blessing / curse is one that doesn't allow him to have kids, and him being a Prince makes it very bad. Technically speaking it is possible for him to have kids, it is just that the person he's going to have them with needs to be strong enough to withstand the curse. Because of this he comes up with the only solution he could find, making Tinasha her wife. Needless to say that Tinasha was taken aback when she heard that because, one, it came out of nowhere, and two, she is a witch and him a human prince. That to me implies that humans have some prejudices against witches. Because Tinasha didn't want to do that, Oscar proposes another thing which is for her to live a year in the castle. She accepts that and that is what the next episode is going to be all about, her adjusting to her new life. Although I don't think Oscar will tell everyone that she's a witch. He will probably tell them that she's the assistant of the witch just like he did with Lazar. Or who knows, maybe he does. Guess we will have to wait for the next episode to find out. So yeah, a great first episode. Definitely worth the watch.
