Does anyone remember Donna playing Katherine Porter in that Nanny episode where she hooks Fran up with a millionaire? This show is always having The Nanny references, love it
Damm I knew I recognized her from the Nanny...including the voice & isnt that girl in the bar was the same girl Fran hooked up with the shampoo girl job?
I think this is a pivotal moment in the series. Its something Fran has always wanted and while not a baby, its still a living creature whom she can pour her heart out of. Its sweet. This is also an ode to her dog she had on The Nanny, whom played Chester, CC's dog who despises her but loves Fran.
Honestly I don’t understand this episode. I don’t see Peter having a baby with another woman he is not close with right when Fran said she wanted a baby, they are already close and live together. That would hurt so bad.
If my husband tells me I cant have a dog or cat I will defnitely already be suspicious of who he really is. In any case I would tell him to buzz off 😁 But at least she got her way in the end.
if you mean before he came out - yeah could be nice but this is based on Fran's and Peter (Mark Jakobson's, her husband's) real life and they didn't have a kid
It would've been more interesting if they tried again, failed and Fran asked Karen to have Peter's child due to her missing the kid train. Karen should've still had the kid, and Peter and Fran became the kid's grandparents.
It's the craziest thing that Fran has all these issues, especially with men, but somehow they find a way to make Judy's problems worse. I mean they could have given her a family that we never see, the jokes would have written themselves.
There are plenty of people who've been married for more than 18 years and I don't have children. He clearly has a thriving career as a real estate agent and she wanted to go on to her own business. And you'd be surprised how quickly time goes by. You look up and you're older. If you have kids they're grown. It's actually quite common. Some people that are met. Only just have one child. And once you have your first child it is extremely likely that you would become pregnant a second time within that year after that child is born. But I only have one. And I've had multiple relationships and I have never gotten pregnant again.
Also, surprisingly, many couples have trouble getting pregnant. It could be due to "bad swimmers" or other infertility issues. Some women are also prone to miscarriage, unfortunately. Anyway, I would wager that they didn't see a fertility doctor to sort out exactly what the issue is.
The whole show is a tragic/sad situation especially when you see they are essentially still in love... and one amazing woman trying to make the best of everything. If you read Frans cancer shmancer book youll see she went through even worse in real life. She's a trooper.
Yeah, I can very much relate to Fran's life. I guess that's why this show is so interesting to me. This episode made me tear up a lot but I still enjoyed it. Hate the series was cancelled.
Is she incapable of childbirth or something? Why did he straight up discourage Fran having a child- she didn't even ask him to father it if she did have it at that age- but agreed to literally father the child of a coworker?
@Sarah Minits harder to get pregnant, and if you do its likely to have end up a miscarriage. It's not impossible, yes unlikely to have a uncomplicated successful pregnancy and childbirth but it's not impossible. And yes I've done bio, Grade one straight A profile with top grades. You aren't wrong. But she's not incapable. It's harder for her and yes it's rare. But not impossible. If she had the support maybe she'd have looked into it more for ways to heighten her chance, keep a little hope. And please dont try to insult me by using my age or subjects as bullets. Make your point, discuss, I'll listen but being mean isnt any way to get a point across.
This is the problem with non serialised tv, didn't Fran have a dog in S1? Also, for a self made woman who couldn't have kids (both Frans for different reasons) this plot of kids making everything better is weird. Karen becoming a mom with Peter's dna could give Fran a godchild with her ex's blood. It's like having a kid without the pregnancy and the diapers. You'd think Fran (fictional) would be ecstatic about this if they're going the Ender's Game rout.
This episode is so true... Men will marry a woman and make her do all the work, then dump her and do everything the wife wanted before but with someone else. Makes me so mad
I’ve watched some scene of the last comedy show where Fran was acting like a mother, the entire cast was ugly, unbelievable, not credible, the actor who play the sun he so monstrous that wasn’t credible as her sun, the beauty of Fran would have never produced such an ugly sun, as talented he could be! And there wasn’t the warmth of The Nanny and this Happily Divorced, the touching, the embracing the closenesses of the actors! I don’t know how much she was involved on the casting of their own shows but if she did it she showed another of her unique capacity and talents! I’m so frustrated cause after those supposed failure, cause Happily Divorce wasn’t AT ALL, we may forget forever to see her again trying to invest and produce another comedy and I’m so frustrated and depressed! They cancelled The Nanny on F Netflix and this show here in my country is available only on UA-cam, as I know🤬 I love you Fran you make my day’s lighter, funny and hilarious and transmitting a sense of family warmth that was embracing me, I will miss you so much❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️LOVE

I half expected the dog to snarl at Peter when she was handed to him, like Chester always did with CC on The Nanny. 😋

True. Then they could've had this show going on a bit longer
if you mean before he came out - yeah could be nice
but this is based on Fran's and Peter (Mark Jakobson's, her husband's) real life and they didn't have a kid
sure Fran had uterine cancer and had to get a hysterectomy, and she and Peter never had a child
