    My 2006 SLk350 needs the same problem fixed. Thanks for this video. It looks like there is only ONE cylinder that needs to be replaced even though the fluid leaked on BOTH sides of my roof. I agree with the heat thing causing the leak because my roof started leaking during the hottest days of the year. I think I will try and replace my cylinder. Not sure if I also need to add some fluid back though since it leaked several times before I figured out what was wrong.

      the roof of my 2006 SLK 55 AMG started to retract and it seemed like something was wrong so i pushed the button to close. the trunk did not fold back down and the rear windows did not go back up. and on both sides of my roof fluid started to leak out. i pushed the trunk down but it did not close properly. im told i will need STAR to get the rear windows up. my car is beeping and the screen is flashing red and reads the roof is opening and not locked. will this repair fix my problem? or is there something else?

      @@altimorefields2707 at first, put it in the compartment. Maybe there will be a New initialsation. When you mce by Hand you should unscrew the brown plus with the allen to relax the System. Cheers, Axel

      @@altimorefields2707 hi, here, in this vid i show you how to close the little side windows. don`t nanipulate the roof without opening the little brown bolt with th inner allen screw. If you can, pls lay the roof in the trunk. Close the rollo/ courtain before and the try to close. May there will be a new initialisation. But don?t forgett to close the little bolt before you push the button. Good luck and cheers, Axel

      @@altimorefields2707 you should do what i did in the vid but vice versa. Open the little plug under the roof, Back mirror area, and someone should fix the roof in close position, you go inside with the allen and turn close. there is a micro switch beneath every lock system there. Closing sequence of the little windows and trunk cover will not start before this front lock is closed and the micro switches say ok! Cheers, Axel. Besides, here is my playlist with almost all my cabrio roof vids. ua-cam.com/play/PLUaG1Daalhw_xSyMqWNdNqN92JUw4e7YG.html

    Very good video, Mr. Knoetig - thank you for making it. Did you send the piston to Mr. Moreno to have the seals installed or did you do it yourself?

    • @corvette724
      @corvette724  2 роки тому +1

      Hi, first of all, thank you. I think there are 2 possiplities: 1. Replace only the seal, like i showed in the vid. Mr. Moreno would send you the seal and a Tool to pull the piston. Or you buy a complete unit with hoses. Then you need to watch my other vid about complete change. Cheers, Axel

      Hi Mr Knoetig, thank you for the video. I have a question. After you half open the roof and put a wooden chair to support the roof, do you turn off the key ? Or pull out the battery ? I remembered if the roof half open for few minutes, the system to auto shut the roof. Pls advice

    • @MarkoVukovic0
      @MarkoVukovic0 Рік тому +1

      @@bryantwbiau if you half open the roof and turn off the key, the ccomputer will automatically open the solenoid valve to release the hydraulic pressure after a short while and the roof will fall forwards again. This is why he put the chair there. You will need to support it in a similar way.

      You're wellcomme. Position the arrangement in maintaining positionp, read manual or follow my playlist, the other slk vids. Fix it with cushions or what ever. The Rest is normal craftmanship. Order the parts at RSC Company, ask for Mr. Moreno. He's so kind and helpfull. Cheers, Axel
