    With having fine hair myself, I went and bought the Label M thickening tonic... Im always massively sceptical about these things... But bloody hell! It actually works.
    May also have to buy the Aveda one too out of curiosity now.
    Thanks for your advice in the video Robin.

      @61dodgelancer 4 роки тому +4

      @@dryricefields403 I really like Aveda thickening tonic. It gives my hair a nice hold with out making it too stiff. A little bit goes a long way for me. It works better for me than the Moroccanoil texture clay I was using before. My hair is fine and these days a bit longer because of the difficulties created by coronavirus. If you want a little more control after applying Aveda, give your hair just a touch of hair spray. My wife likes using Aveda thickening tonic too. I have the 3.4 oz. spray bottle. Hope this helps.

    Thank you Robin, I enjoy watching your posts especially as an aspiring hairdresser. I think paying close attention to a very selective and discerning customer is as important to my education as following great hairstylists.
    I would say one factor that you leave off the table, but does matter to a lot of people, myself included, is the effect on the environment. Aveda makes a great effort of creating great products that don't destroy our air, water and landfills.

    How big is the difference when using a good quality thickening tonic? As a guy with fine hair, but lots of it, sometimes after a while my hairs start forming large strands and it looks like "empty spots"? I can't really explain it..

    Well, I'd check the ingredients list too. If one contains such ingredients as Alcohol Denat., Propylene glycol, Linalool, Coumarin and other mostly commercial (although not so good for the hair) stuff for creating fast results whilst adding a synthetical scent but pleasing (for mass usage) scent then I'd go with the more natural one.

      hair health is really important, look into buying higher end shampoos and condtioners with argan/morrocian oils (and maybe some essencial vitamins) avoid damaging your hair, as hair damage can change growth rates in your hair. 8 inches is a lot of hair, so i'd get a staggared length from the back to the front (if you have a disconnected undercut, or an undercut of any sort) so your hair could be a little easier to style.
