Aveda thickening tonic is the best prestyler for my thin hair.. its flexible not harden but provide amount of structure and thick healthy look to my hair and for support the hold of post styler like odouds matte paste.. hard to find Label m in my country. Thankyou Robin...God bless stay safe and healthy
With having fine hair myself, I went and bought the Label M thickening tonic... Im always massively sceptical about these things... But bloody hell! It actually works. May also have to buy the Aveda one too out of curiosity now. Thanks for your advice in the video Robin.
Robin, thanks for the great review of these two thickening tonics. I plan to try both. Because of your comparison of these products, I'm going to order Aveda Thickening Tonic now.
@@dryricefields403 I really like Aveda thickening tonic. It gives my hair a nice hold with out making it too stiff. A little bit goes a long way for me. It works better for me than the Moroccanoil texture clay I was using before. My hair is fine and these days a bit longer because of the difficulties created by coronavirus. If you want a little more control after applying Aveda, give your hair just a touch of hair spray. My wife likes using Aveda thickening tonic too. I have the 3.4 oz. spray bottle. Hope this helps.
@@61dodgelancer thanks for the quick response man, my hair has always been flat and straight so hopefully I can get that thick look and hold for my hair. I've got an order coming in soon so judging from your response I won't regret it
boxy bottles are great. You can tightly stack them on shelf next to each other and they dont move all over the place when you reach for the one in the middle
Thank you Robin, I enjoy watching your posts especially as an aspiring hairdresser. I think paying close attention to a very selective and discerning customer is as important to my education as following great hairstylists. I would say one factor that you leave off the table, but does matter to a lot of people, myself included, is the effect on the environment. Aveda makes a great effort of creating great products that don't destroy our air, water and landfills. Thanks again, Leslie from California
I've never used Label M but Aveda works wonderfully for me. My favorite is the Rosemary Mint shampoo :). Robiiin, I totally like the music you use for this new era of videos. You reinvented yourself completely! Keep up the great work!
I use the Aveda thickening tonic and I LOVE it!! To be fair, though, I used to work for them and I believe in the products!! We have similar hairstyles and I get similar results!! GREAT video!! Also, check out their skincare products!!
Hi Robin! Thanks for a great video.. Have you ever tried Kerastase volume expansion spray? I'm almost finishing it and wandering if those guys you presented today are better or should I stick with this one?? Thx!
Thanks for the tip. My hair is exactly like yours and I now use label m thickening tonic. It gives my hair brilliant volume and looks brilliant when styled now :)
Excellent video and series Robin. I look forward to more! The point that you make about the categories not being equally weighted is exactly what I commented on your previous brand battle video. I'm glad that you considered and mentioned it.
You MUST try Chad Michael products. Shampoo Conditioner, pomade, gel, clay, cream. These products are engineered and not private labeled. BEST OF THE BEST!
Great video as usual! How big is the difference when using a good quality thickening tonic? As a guy with fine hair, but lots of it, sometimes after a while my hairs start forming large strands and it looks like "empty spots"? I can't really explain it.. You're approaching a 100k subs too! that's amazing!
Well, I'd check the ingredients list too. If one contains such ingredients as Alcohol Denat., Propylene glycol, Linalool, Coumarin and other mostly commercial (although not so good for the hair) stuff for creating fast results whilst adding a synthetical scent but pleasing (for mass usage) scent then I'd go with the more natural one.
Hey Robin..need your help please! I am loosing hair with scalp showing- which product is better at giving dense appearance and volume? Aveda or Black Mist from Black Label grooming? Great Vids!
Hey Robin was just wondering if I’m already using a thickening shampoo for example from nioxin is it still good to use a thickening pre styler like these ones?
How can I use this as a prestyler?? By the time I used the aveda tonic and blow dry it, I can't put any mousse on (requires damp hair) so what am I supposed to use after?
Can you do a brand battle on your two favorite mousse? I found a really big difference between my argan oil mousses and my tresemme mousse. Like weight for argan oil is heavier and such.
Robin can you please help me to choose the right one and workable shampoo and conditioner for dry and freezy hairs which could be easily available in india.
Could you review Prejume Wax (Level 3 and/or 5) please? I'm curious to know how it stacks up against claymation in your opinion. Out of many waxes I've used that one performs very well. You actuallly convinced me to purchase claymation, so let's see how that goes!
Could you also do a Grandfathers Go To and review a few old school products like Brylcream or Californian Poppy that old men seem to love? They must have something going for them if they have been available for so long.
Hey Robin, where did you get that blue shirt? It looks really nice! Not sure what you'd pair it with trousers-wise though. Also if you fancy being my guinea pig, please put Wella Texture Touch Reworkable Clay against something else. Can't find any decent videos on that product here :(
It is a great idea of yours Robin. The battle of the brands genius. I don't need a thickening tonic but still love the vid and being surprised by the outcomes ... Keep up the great work Robin.
By Vilain VS Hanz de Fuko (Claymation vs Gold Digger) I am curious how these 2 products work especially on your type of hair, because mine is similar to yours.
Robin James they are very bad. They've just done very well in getting they're product out there and selling it well but actually you can get the equivalent in "superdrug'" for £2
Robin :D your videos are amazing man. Love that. I had one question, can I use that as pre styler product every time? Could you make a brand battle between hair oil? Between Arganoil and Moroccanoil?
Yeah I did, it was in your budget products video. :-) should have mentioned that I mean the "beach matte", not that strange orange one (that I have tried as well and I hate it too).
Robin, I'm planning on growing out my hair to about 8 inches, but I want to make sure it still looks nice. I have fine hair like yours, so do you have any tips so it looks alright?
hair health is really important, look into buying higher end shampoos and condtioners with argan/morrocian oils (and maybe some essencial vitamins) avoid damaging your hair, as hair damage can change growth rates in your hair. 8 inches is a lot of hair, so i'd get a staggared length from the back to the front (if you have a disconnected undercut, or an undercut of any sort) so your hair could be a little easier to style.
It's now a regular feature! Keep your Brand Battle suggestions coming.
I'll get through as many as possible.
