@@GottaBeFrank 6:09: The only excuse I can guess from this is that the lack of a run action (because the mechanics are more Castlevania based) means they had to improvise. reaching certain gaps aren't hard to do if you figured it out from experience (unless you're Arin Hanson who doesn't like good surprises).
I just wanna point out something neat about Essence 1, I was watching your footage and Mario actively gets depressed when you die. They did a great job conveying it in so few pixels.
I don't think they hate them but they are extremely weary of the ones that could potentially have a negative impact on them as a business. Generally they will leave fan games alone as long as it doesn't seem like the creators are profiting off of it.
I was surprised when Hello began shifting to 3D but weirded out when they randomly began doing anime stuff on them and especially shoehorning it in a rather forced and unnatural way into these projects....

Well Neptunia DOES have an actual anime, so I guess you're kinda right. (Started as a game character though; I actually have the games on Steam)
I recognized only characters from Genshin Impact and Sword Art Online, so everything else would have been a guess. Good to know I wasn't wrong lol

Isekai Mario looks pretty well designed, but giving it an Isekai theme is really odd. And probably is what's breaking the gameplay system.
I’ve played the creator’s other games and from my experience it’s just that the controls and overall gameplay are pretty bad.
Someone should make a fanmade 8 bit/16 bit game of the 93 Super Mario Movie.
That would be pretty sweet.
Essence is probably my favorite, I always love the memey games with a ton of effort into them.
