- Shrek: Treasure Hunt is a 2002 is a party game. In this game, Shrek is preparing a picnic for Fiona. In order to get the ingredients, he must collect a certain number of collectibles in each area plus 6 hidden keys in order to unlock a minigame which is how you collect all the picnic items.

I have vague memories of this game and i think "oh yeah i played that game a lot when i was young" and then the trauma hits.
I remember playing this by looking at the loading screen. Yes it was a terrible game. To get rid of the trauma caused by this game, i suggest you play Disney Pixar's UP (PS2), that way you will have a most traumatic experience and forget about the previous one.

Wow this unlocked so many memories from my childhood it’s unreal, this is like one of the first games I remember sitting down and playing as a kid, may not be the best game but hey it’s my first and it holds a special place in my heart

@@MutchGames whoops didn’t even see your comment until now, but probably the three blind mice mini game just cause I remember as a kid it was the only part I could get past. I don’t think I ever finished the game but I loved just doing that mini game and walking around

I remember about twenty-two years ago when 5 year-old me and my Mom went to go see the movie Shrek. After the movie was over, me and my mom went to the store and got some groceries, when we were about to go checkout, I passed by this game for the PS1, I begged my mom to get it for me since we recently bought a PS1 for my brothers birthday. My mom eventually let me get it and as soon as I got home I started playing it.
Does anyone relate? When i was kid I spent so MANY hours simply running around this game's world trying to find any of Shrek's friends to escape the sadness and loneliness that this game makes you feel. more so than being concerned with beating all these minigames and such

For the longest time i've been looking for this game thinking it was a PS2 game. Yesterday a saw a video where this was mentioned and thought "could it be?" so here I am. Thanks for uploading this. Feels great to have those memories washed back in my head.
This was my first PlayStation game. The music and the ambient world made you get lost in the game. The mini games were hard for me, my sister had to do a few of them for me.

If this game had a different developer, no doubt the game would've been a lot better. Heck, there should've been a Shrek game that accurately followed the first movie on the PS1, PS2, Xbox, GameCube and maybe even N64. Plus, if I were in charge of developing Shrek Treasure Hunt, I'd make it a lot more like Banjo Kazooie with puzzles and better gameplay and of course have Donkey as a playable character. As for the mini games, I'd make them multi player and have other Shrek characters appear since the 3 Blind Mice and the dragon were the only movie characters who appeared in-gane while Fiona only appeared in the ending cutscene.
Hassle in the castle on gba I'd say follows the first movie the closest for Shrek games.
The best part is the weird groundhog/beaver things rolling on the logs saying “HAHR”
According to Wikipedia, this game was supposed to be developed by Digital Illusions of Sweden, who are now owned by EA. Apparently, they were too busy with porting the XBox Shrek game to the GameCube, leaving Code Monkeys, a British developer, in charge of "Treasure Hunt".
Despite the "mediogre" reviews for the game, the audio was pretty great and the graphics resemble the film's to a high degree. Code Monkeys did what they could, and while their efforts may not have born much fruit, the least that can be said is that they gave it their best shot.

Oh my god i used to play this as a kid. The music, the character models, everything. I didn't understand what was going on at the time but I had a great fucking time. This looks god awful lol

I never got to actually beat this game because my game would glitch at the same spot and would crash. I’m so glad this video exists so I can finally live life not wondering how this game ended 😂
i just learned on twitter that every copy of the game on PS1 crashes at that same spot. It’s unbeatable

To be fair, it was a decent game for the time. Not great, but decent. Shrek 2 however was an amazing game.
@@MutchGames Shrek 2 and Shrek the Third video games were the best as I kid, got a collection of all three, yeah, it was a pretty decent game but I cannot lie, the animation looked sooo much better when I was little
@@eggbydefault7442 yeah that's how most ps1 era games looked. I'm glad games improved with time. I've actually longplayed both 2 and Shrek the third on my channel plus a few other Shrek games.

I used to play this game and listen to this 'Best Beer Drinking Album' CD my parents won from a radio station. Now I can't hear Tubthumping without thinking about Shrek, and vice versa.
