This game provides incredible moments that very few others can achieve. Yesterday, I reached 300 days, and my goal is to reach 500 as well. What seemed impossible when I first started playing is now almost becoming a reality.
That rabbit kill though :) Also like your basecamp arrangement. I do that in every game. It's pointless but I like my stuff neatly organized. Very smart to make blizzard directions. Sometimes I even get lost just by picking up stuff from the ground XD
There is a helpful tip I've learned. Naturally spawned won't work this way but anytime you drop a stick from your inventory it'll always point in the same direction. Very useful for getting your bearings even in a blizzard.
Wow, I have chills. The Long Dark is just a beautiful, immersive game. 500 days is no joke but on interloper it is even more crazy. Congratulations! And thanks to you I have found a new song I need to check out.

I watch this video often, not because of your amazing survival skills lol. The video and the track complement each other. I finally subed :) Congratulations on your Interloper achievement.
I had the same matrix bear at timberwolf mountain, but I was jumping in and out of the mountaineers hut. That sucker took off with five of my arrows, didn't leave any footprints and checking the stats for two days after - he never bled out and died, either.
Okay 3 things... 1. That CH bear encounter u had the movement on him lol juked him good! 2. The transition from applying bandage to starting fire during the timberwolf encounter.. gold! 3. The instant spawn bear long distance moving tsrget shot was absolutely a thing of beauty! Great work! This is so much harder to do than it seems! (I've never made it a week on interloper lol)
Nice to see someone else get the Stone Age Sniper achievement. I got mine during my first playthrough of Wintermute. There's a section after leaving the ravine (in which Mackenzie's plane crashed) where the game introduces you to hunting rabbits, and I managed to get really lucky with a spur-of-the-moment throw. Pretty cool to see you got it so far into an Interloper run. I've yet to do one of those, but I'll always relish that moment, even if it was on the easiest difficulty in the easiest gamemode.
500 days achievement on Interloper is no joke. The first few days are hell. You'll most likely die in the first few days... many times. Eventually, if you make it, and manage to craft your first bow, the game becomes easy. So, you get confident, go on a killing spree. Hoard meat and skin. Then get too confident and poof.... death by wolf. Surprise or no surprise, it happens. Rinse and repeating this process eventually makes you more experienced. You make less mistakes, be more alert. That still doesn't guarantee that you'd survive the first few days everytime. But you finally do get a bow. Again, the game becomes a piece of cake. You continue up to 100 days, easy. You begin to feel like you've mastered this game. You are just way too cool. 500 days will be a breeze for you now.... or are they? Something is amiss now. As you continue, you realize that you've been using up too many matches. Your magnifying lens won't allow you to light fires anymore, because it's never sunny in philadelphia... I mean, great bear. You start to panic. Take another trip to the already looted locations. Not many rabbits left for you to fix your mitts and hat with. You become desperate, but there are no more matches. You die around 220 days. You get heartbroken... disappointed. You feel like this is impossible to do! You get back up again. This time, you know that no matter how hard the first few days are, the ones after 100 are going to be worse.... much worse. So, you wise up. Conserve. Tread lightly. Eventually, you die on day 187. After a few more deaths on day 200, 280 and 322, you finally learn the spots safe to tread on during beach combing. You know how to remove your clothes at the right times to prevent them from getting wet or torn. You know the usefulness of a snow shelter ir the risk you take while making one. You learn to calculate the pris and cons of your every action. And finally... you die on day 495. You are sad, but hardened from all your failures now. You don't break down. You survive the first few days on the next run. Hunt well, during the easy period. Carry torch to torch to locations that are too dangerous, saving your matches. Use magnifying glass at every chance you get. Hoard fish during the blizzards. Eventually, you still run out of matches and a firestriker. But it's day 498. You press on. Say fuck you to cabin fever ànd coop up in your base. Sit the next days off. Reach 500 days. Feel invincible, a sense of great achievement. Think "How much longer can I survive?" You start trying to survive again, but you left no opportunities for that, you have cabin fever. You take your bedroll and go into a nearby cave to sleep.... only to never wake up again. Day 502. I heard some people survived for 800 days or so. But for me, I am proud of my 502 days.
