Contemporary Marching Band - Grade 3-4
This 1981 power ballad from the group Journey has enjoyed renewed popularity in TV and film as well as the current Broadway production Rock of Ages. It was featured in the final episode of the HBO hit series The Sopranos, and most recently in the highly anticipated TV Series Glee. Guaranteed showstopper!

I've always dreamed of playing this for band while marching down the street but covid happened and the parades got cancelled and since I was remote for school I was forced out of band but I'm gonna join back in highschool :)
we get to play it tonight at a band concert with like 2-300 hundred people
I believe in ya dude!
But regardless what happens (or has happened since this comment is a year old)
Follow what the song says and Don’t Stop Believin’!
Hope you’re doing well in band now :). I’m trying to learn this piece on clarinet in preparation for marching band
@@deortymy marching band did this song for our performance last year and they got first place
You I feel bad I am in band this year wish me luck
Those sixteenth notes for the flutes though!
lmao
As a former flute player who had to play this. They are not fun.
Clarinets too, not fun, we don’t usually play high.
@@alextanner1695 I totally forgot this comment
@@lilac8301 lol-
This hits me instant nostalgia and peace.
Brings back to my high school years.
Collage is no fun. But it will be worth it. I'm working on my Masters.
Hopefully I can get my PH.D someday.
Hey hows your PhD comin up
I’m in love with song! It really puts extra prep in my step. The percussion 🥁 is awesome. Love the quad drums.
I play the quad drums and I agree I love them too but they can be a pain to carry
This v band arrangement hits hard when you are in a dark room and closing your eyes, and filling the darkness with you imagination to this song
Man I love being a trumpet player!!
Facts
Same trumpets are the best
Who don’t
Oof the clarinet is part is boring! I’m jealous :p
Me too :))
We played this on senior night 😭🥺
Detroit: Become Crabby HA I played it in 5th grade??????
The first trumpet part!!!!!!
I love the alto part! Quarter notes all day long! *sarcasm*
Ya know what, if that doesn't get low brass and low woodwind respect, nothing will
i know raise your hand if your an alto and you hate your part 🙌🙌🙌
Ikr
Alto sax isn’t a low woodwind it’s mainly high or alto
I know, im playinf that part. Really boring😑
I’m in marching/pep band and i’m a freshman, we’re playing this at all the home football games
I just love what they have for the baritones its amazing :D
You know everyone loves your closing song to your schools year end concert when they almost cover the band with singing (our year end concert is always july 3rd)
Im so excited, we will be playing this in the vetrans day parade!
I love playing this band
It brings me back nostalgic memories I never had😢😢
This might be the only song I would willing play the Baritone Part over the Trombone part. God, the Tbn part is boring, but I love the bass line
Trombone should got the bass line
During the melody
Ikr. At all possible, I ask for trombone over baritone. This arragement made me change my mind
Performing this tomorrow night!
We learned a band dance to this for cheer tryouts tonight :)
I love this song I know this by memory in clarinet my freshman year of marching band
Whoever arranged this obviously hates trombones
Just be lucky you dont play baritone
they also hate altos too, all we have are quarter notes (mostly)
We get hate from everyone cause we are louder than them
Itz Ayden I'm a clarinet u can't really hear us I'm a little salty tbh 😂
Me a clarinet player: oh this isnt so bad
0:50 oh- never mind
I love being a baritone player!!!❤
love it its amazing
Dang dawg
RIP Alto, and the low brass for the quarter notes
@Eliott Schenk I saw it right as you said that true
Very Nice 🎺💂
My marching band is playing this with other 80s rock pieces like livin on a prayer, and I love it! It's a lot better than Stacy's Mom (from last year).
I'm playing this song in march band
I love those repetitive quarter and eighth notes for the Low Brass!!!
(I play trombone 💀)
Gamer Newbz im a tuba and this part is so much better than anything in concert band
I play baritone.
IM LOW BRASS
I do that
I play trombone but When you combined it with the baritones and tubas. It resale sounds well
Demasiado bueno...
I like the Mellophone with the melody in this, the old one had a sweeter one.
I like the other Hal Leonard version better.
banger
could ya literally give low brass anything but quarter notes and eighth notes?
// WagnerD09903 \\ is it so bad compared to saxes
Can ya not give the saxes the mellophone part -_-
I play the tenor and just decided to look at the alto and Mello parts.. dear lord that has to get boring
// WagnerD09903 \\ I'm in drumline, every time we get a Paul Murtha piece we just cry.
Yeah xD
hi i loved this song in band i missed its...
i love being a tenor
what a great trombone part
Sucks to be a tenor sax😂😭
What grade u guys playing this in I'm in 7th :)

A shame I'm not able to purchase this item. Only US or something?
That tuba part though
ayyyyeee i play my sousa part while were practicing our pixar show this year and i get hit by one of my dm's maces :(
As a tuba Player i love anf hate this song 😭
1:50 making this for myself as a bench mark for the repeat
Hi :)
Umm I'm a flute and utterly shook😅
Tuba
At measure 17, it sounds like the trumpets missed their cue..??
Rachie1425 sounded fine to me
uh...mate, how do you think mp3 works?
What kind of trombone part is that.
The only good part is the trumpet (1) part.
Clarinet folk
Anyone my fellow clarinetist
second!
Drumline parts arent that great. Not much to it. But it sounds really nice!
Too much trumpet 😵💫
Everything most other arrangers do, Bocook does better.
They stole this from the cadets from 9 years ago it’s exact same
Megalovania please
The Bocook is much better
Drew Shannon yea
Objectively better at that
Nope this is the beat
i hate being alto it's so boring. i want to be a trumpet now
First
jay bocook's version is vastly superior
