"You bought it because you found it beautiful and admire it, and you're not even taking care of it." ☝️ This is was ... Oooh, ouch! That I needed reminding of. When my mom passed, I had to go through all the things in her house that she kept for various reasons, and most things were damaged or destroyed because they weren't taken care of. And I'm sitting on things that I got because I liked for whatever reason, but I'm not taking care of. Time to either pull them out and display or use them, or release them into the wild for someone else to love.
I feel like we need a group page to trade things around for whenever we don’t need something stationary wise. I want to declutter but I feel so much guilt tossing it because I know some other people would love to have them
Thank you!! The best case scenario is when a friend or family member can use something you don't need anymore. I recently gave away a jewelry box, several books, and a novelty deck of cards this way.
For stickers, I bought a reusable sticker book off Amazon like a year ago, and it was a game changer for me. I am definitely still prone to making some impulse purchases, but now every weird-shaped sticker and half-used sheet has been organized into this book, and I am so much more likely to reach for them! I got the satisfaction of peeling the sticker, I can look at them when I want, and it's a bit easier to get rid of things that no longer look right to me when I see my whole collection. Everything else in my desk is still a mess, though, lol
Perfect timing! I’m taking a mini break from decluttering… and here you are! Another plus one for Dana K. White on decluttering. Her container concept is everything!
Agreed with previous comment... Dana K White has great beginner videos on where to begin when you're trying to declutter, especially when you don't feel motivated or if you are overwhelmed by the stuff. Take it slow! You got this! ♥️
Ugh, I need a big declutter so bad. I did a half a** one at the start of the year but I need to just suck it up and go thorugh it. I also need to ACTUALLY organize all the papers/mail/etc I put in the 'keep' pile. It's 3 declutters deep now and I'm tired of having to dig through it every time i need to find something. 😆
A lot of great tips. Thanks. I think the only thing that stops me from getting rid of some things is I don't like to throw away perfectly good things. If I could give them away to people who would use them or donate them, I'd much prefer that. Unfortunately, there are no second hand places around me that would take stationery things and I don't have any friends that are into the hobby.
Had similar issue with certain types of supplies, so I donated it to the local school 🎉 Schools are usually in need of new, odd, different craft items.
This is actually spooky that this was your upload today as a fairly long time subscriber because I was just watching a bunch of declutter vids (never done that before!) and saw you put out this video like 30 min later lol
Omg, I am not even kidding, I've watched decluttering videos the past few days too, and was surprised that Rachel (who I already follow), added a decluttering video as well! Maybe there's a spring decluttering vibe going on?
Found this video by accident, and this week is a HUGE decluttering project to reclaim some space and sanity--and I very much needed to hear the comment about keeping things for my "ideal life".

Great video! Refreshing & very enjoyable to watch & learn!! Thank you!!❤😊

The nostalgic stuff from loved ones is also so hard to declutter ❤ I'm glad you found this useful!
Some of us could sit on the floor, but could not get up.
True 😅
Word!!

I appreciate that you stuck with "give away" and "donate" instead of " I can sell this".

Oooooh the dreaded paper/mail pile 😭 I have truly lost so much money and time due to that pile. I feel you!
Dana k. White has great books and videos on decluttering.

Same! I've heard Buy Nothing groups on Facebook could be a good place to find people who might want this kind of thing.
I found another good tip is putting it on facebook market place for free or very low price so you know it will likely actually be used.

I always find forgotten gems when decluttering and then get distracted 😆😆
My WORST distraction is my old journals, I just love looking through them lol
It reminds me of the KonMari method, specially the part about putting everything out to be able to visualize
Spotted the TAZ sticker!! 👀👀 Great video :)
THAT one I'm keeping!!!
I’m one of those.

It's easier if you use huge moving boxes so stuff doesn't blend into each other while sorting
