I was 13 at the filming for the My Town music video in 1997 at Mission Beach. It was super cloudy, and i always thought it was awesome how they made it sunny in the video. =D
I grew up seeing these guys around PB in the 90's, I only looked this up cause I couldn't remember if there was a video for "My Town", Its so sick that there still playing, but now I feel old as fuck and my 6 yr old son thinks i'm a dork
One of the upsides to the pandemic was seeing a good handful of these bands get completely rejuvenated and start making new music again. Fun Day Mental is a good album. Not an old fart nostalgia album. A good album.
When I was a kid this song came on the radio in Phoenix one time and I loved it, so I say by the radio with my favorite cassette in the tape deck. Song didn't come on for another week, so when I heard it I ran over and hit record. After listening to it on the tape it ran directly after another recording, but cut off a song by third eye blind. So for the longest time I thought this song was by third eye blind because the tape went, "now here's third eye blind with- I've got the tunes in my pocket in an old ass Walkman...". For years I believed that to be true. So then one day in high school I saw a bright green CD case on the ground. Popped out in my CD player and was soon pleasantly surprised to find I now know I've been wrong about the band, and also own buck o nine's 28 teeth album... lucky me. No wonder karma has shat on me ever since... I got on my good karma when I found that dope album!
I know what you mean. But this has always been. No different than the old farts I used to see jamming out old 50s and 60s tunes in the 90s when 1.09 was still a young band. Where things go wrong when you get old is how you approach this. Buying some records, catching an odd show. Excellent. Devoting your entire life to it like some did in their youth... not so good. But when you do get old, have a family, job, whatever.... you gotta make sure this stuff is kept in balance. We still gotta be adults. Also, I'd maybe go see this but I don't think I'd wanna be the old farts in the front row.
bro the black dude is giving the energy for the whole damn band! he is the GOAT!
They still sound just as good as they did in the 90's!
