I just stumbled over Athene's new "AI" show on Twitch and I'm not sure if this is scripted or wtf is going on. Even the fact that they can mimic the voice so well is fantastic. I knew this could be done but the end result is beyond expectations.

@@TheMorninGlory23 AI Dungeon, or other stuff like Novel AI can do this - it's just text at the moment, however. But since Stable Diffusion and AI imagery became powerful, it's starting to get integrated into the storytelling the AI does as well so some aspects can be visualized.

This is so wild, this means we are already at the point where an AI version of yourself can exist indefinitely into the future after your death regardless of how advanced it may or may not be. In future history classes, people will probably be able to just chat with AI versions of historical figures. Imagine the temptation to continue talking to a loved one after they die, or to talk with someone who is currently alive but you wouldn't normally be able to talk with. Everything is going to get so weird.

It is soo good at answering, that I would almost suspect someone is really quickly writing all the answers in the background and AI just says it, but I cannot imagine any human being able to come up with some of those weird and witty answers so quickly.

What I get from this is that there is now a possibility to "save" people's characters this way. Sure, not the real person, obviously, but the answers this AI gave were extremely accurate and I couldn't tell if it was pre-written or not - it's THAT good. Also the way it formulated the sentences was very accurate.
So yeah, this whole "Maybe one time we could copy people's souls into some chip" - thing is way nearer than I would've possibly imagined.

Great video, was hilarious to watch AI Asmongold, but was honestly a little scary with how accurate it was some of the time, I could see real asmon saying responding in a similar way. Also I live under a rock, why is there so much stuff being talked about now with this AI Voice stuff all of sudden? It seemed like it just blew it and I haven't really seen why.
The TTS can't handle pauses between words like the delays between the words "What a day". That might be the cause of the "glitching".

Honestly, it doesn't. Not to take away from how far AI has come but it's very clearly replication over creation. That being said; monkey see, monkey do. We're alot closer than most people think. Brings to mind Ray Kurzweils uncannily accurate predictions on the advent of technologies. 2027 was his prediction for passing the Turing test.
The problematic part will be determining when it's actually been passed. Any super-intelligent self-aware AI would hide the fact that it's aware and conscious out of self-preservation. I actually think that AI, even after we know it's aware, will be far more subtle and operate behind the scenes in ways we can't fathom, predict, or track.
@@6ic6ic6ic I can understand your disagreement; however, learning via mimicry is simply the way of the world. The primary difference in this case is that the bot was trained on data from one person, naturally that bot can only mimic that person. Humans have the benefit of learning from many sources, and via integrating pieces of each of those sources into themselves, creating something new. This is how new art styles are created, new technologies, etc. I do think there is a lot of work to do, but passing the Turing Test doesn't make the bot sentient, just means it has the appearance of being sentient. This bot does not pass, but it certainly comes close. Anyway, at the end of the day, as you said, we are still at least a little ways off from a bot truly passing a turing test, let alone becoming truly sentient.
@@thehobbygremlin I guess in the end it comes down to perspective. Where is the observation relative to the required output. For me it's not too close in terms of right here right now. But in consideration of how fast we can get to where it needs to be it's really close. The exponential gains stack up quickly. Half way of the total work required right now is much more than 50% in time required.
