I read the post in the Daily Mail app ,Most beautiful brought tears to mine eyes ,Then something Tina said ,was significant to me ,The more I read it I was captivated ,because of her kindness ,Authenticity ,Honesty ,Truth ,and compassion ,& Old school love ,I don't think people knew just how great Tina was ,The book I couldn't put down ,It shows you that although Tina went through difficult years ,In the end she really did find her Prince Charming ,& that's good to know
No disrespect to Al Green, but to me, Tina did the definitive version of this song. I vividly remember the first time I heard her version - the studio one, not the live recording -, and it was a PUNCH IN THE STOMACH, like nothing I'd ever heard before. It's still as mesmerizing 40 years later. Rest in peace, Tina.

Some months before the Barcelona concert, during the concert at Wildparkstadion in Karlsruhe, Germany on may 24, 1990, a bit emotional before singing Let's Stay Together she said to the audience that in the beginning of the Tour she didn't wanted to tour anymore, but seeing the crowds coming, filling stadiums just to listen and see her made her feel very welcome.
And indeed, the Foreign Affair Tour was branded as the Farewell Tour as she planned going to a semi-retirement after the tour was done.
Thanks to the fans, she changed her mind, and the rest is History ❤

You know, you watch these megastars on UA-cam every day and sometimes when you're watching their videos, you forget how old they've gotten. Her death was so sad for me...I was born in 1964 so I didn't know of her really until she made her comeback with the Private Dancer album. I bought the CD then and it still reminds me of some of the best parts of my life in the 80's.
