  • We visited Blue Anchor for the weekend, so took quadcopter in backpack.
This is the first time I've flown over sea/water which was much more nerve wracking than I expected, I flew two short flights (landed at 50% battery), so just some shots put together really, there are a few shakey bits left in, but hopefully will be better/easier next time.
Also should have used ND filter, which I do have, just didn't have in bag with me ;(
    DJI Phantom 3 footage shot 1080p 60fps
Audio recorded separately on Zoom H1 (waves breaking/lapping, steam train passing)
    Edited in HMS13
    Music from youtube archive

Just an awesome place that is undiscovered by the great unwashed . The beaches of Blue Anchor are lovely , sandy no pebbles and no mud . On a weekend when Camber beach nr Rye was closed off due to so many people , there were just 8 people on the entire two mile stretch of Blue Anchor /Watchet sands Thats the way we want to keep it ! If you are a grockle , jog on down to Cornwall Nothing for you or your family at Blue Anchor .

+Shaun Matthews Thanks Shaun, I am sure it will be easier with practice, I just make sure I land at 50% battery and be careful not to get downwind too far, so risk should be minimal.

Great to see Blue Anchor from a seagull's point of view! I must be worrying with your expensive drone out over the sea like that! Still i suppose if anything went wrong over land a crash would not be good!

I agree! And with the sticky mud at Blue Anchor, I don't think you would see the drone again!

    Hi
Really nice video, I am currently making short video for the Blue Anchor Cod Classic, May I ask, would it be ok, for me to include about 10 - 20 seconds of your film, a link to your film would be put on the UA-cam page
    Regards

Great footage, but the editing is perfect. I know how hard it is to fit something to music, but this a lesson to me. What did you use to record sound?

+Scott Twycross Thanks, I used a Zoom H1 to record the waves and train sounds the following day, but I've done it before just using my compact camera just record video and cut the sound off to use.
