Dandy Nichols is so so talented, plays off him (Warren Mitchell) so smoothly. Her facial expressions are priceless, her delivery is spot on. Very talented actors
I agree 100% in fact,Dandy Nichols in the early programs" she was more talented "relaxed" at ease, more experienced and, warren had to break in to the scene, kind of manoeuvre in' to the highly successful double act, probably like lots of programs,,but it was revamped and boosted, with Irene handle,Patricia Hayes, also Mrs hollingbury and, carer Winston etc etc,UA-cam's are wonderful to bring us real entertainment, and you tube provides every kind of worldwide entertainment,
Poor Dandy looked like she was constantly glancing at the teleprompter. It was very sporting for her to reprise her role when she was already in failing health.
This was my nan and grandad down to a T - born and bred in the Eastend of London lived through both wars supported West Ham they carried on just like Alf and his Mrs.
Haven't seen this in so many years.great memories of being young watching this with my dad .cheers 👍imagine programs getting away with alf Garnetts view on the world now 🙈
Dandy Nichols was great . I love how she didn't take any of Alfs yelling and she always stood up to him a lot as wife should lol . The series wasn't the same without her bless her
I am a bit Eddie Booth from Love Thy Neighbour, I am a bit Victor Meldrew from One Foot in the grave and Alf Garnett. I am 23 and I love all of the old politically incorrect humour.
Absolutely wonderful glorious Adorable People real talented artists, real honest entertainment, the way we natural humans react to situations, ,it's not bad vicious or racial,it's real and it goes 100% towards a peaceful world,by laughing at situations , Winston was an absolutely wonderful actor and he came in and enhanced this comedy,
he is actually Jewish himself , he supports tottenham hotspurs , has a beautiful posh English accent has done lots of theater . i grew up with things like this and it showed me as a kid how not to behave .
@@robinnes2662 yes idiot, we all know the laugh is on Alf, doesn't make it any less funny! English humour is taking the piss - always has been, but there are so many stupid people that don't get it
A classic comedy a brilliant cast couldn’t of got any better I remember when this phone was first released love them all keep them coming really really enjoyed watching this again
All right pal. Just because ur american doesn't mean ur a yank. There's such a thing as southerners you know. Should have stuck with the crown anyhow. You want a piece of me? You want a piece?
Thank you so much for putting up this amazing television series. I have till deth on DVD and also managed to get Till Deth so am so pleased this amazing comedy is available to watch so easily 👍

Best partnership in comedy PERIOD!! when I was a kid I used to bite the bottom of a cone and suck all the ice cream through . So much better than wafer on its own
Had only Johnny Speight lived, we would have known the answer here. With the show evidently having succumbed to the PC police in its later days, on screen the indications were that Alf was becoming disillusioned with all politicians - which rather figures in real life!
I have no doubt that though Alf Garnett would have been a bit wary of Boris J's flashy style, he would have been thoroughly pro-Brexit. No doubt about it! I can hear him ranting about "the bloody EU" now.
Wonder if you think of the actor Warren Mitchell as a 'snowflake' too? He was, after all, an Oxford-educated, lifelong socialist who was also Jewish. Sort of like a David Baddiel of his time. He also hated bigotry in all its forms and played Garnett as the worst of British foolish ignorance. Seems some people don't understand that fact. Hysterical in itself! :D
Poor Dandy Nichols. You can see she had become frail by this time, but she gave it her all for this one series before she passed away. RIP
Her: "We sat in the dark for three days."
Alf: "That's because the bulb had gone!". 🤣🤣🤣
Those who found this offensive simply didn't get it.This was brilliant writing and acting.
100%
Only our enemies found it offensive.
Yep, I wish I had been born 20 years earlier.
Brilliant series you can see how ill Dandie Nicholls is What a fantastic pair of actors
This is what you call real comedy! Take me back to the good old days 🤣
I'm a Brit and am so happy to see comedy for a change
God bless em.

Q
Dandy was 20 years older than Warren which he didn't always appreciate ..
They never got on in real life. But so professional were they you would never have known.
Alf speaks nothing but the truth ....everything is still relevant for today.❤️
Warren never seemed to age. My late dad wrote to him for a contribution for a charity and got a really nice reply. R.I.P. to both of them.
He was apparently a very nice man in real life
Poor Dandy looked like she was constantly glancing at the teleprompter. It was very sporting for her to reprise her role when she was already in failing health.
I noticed that too bless her
I met Warren Mitchell.......what a great bloke. He told me a lot of people thought he WAS Alf Garnett........rather than the great actor he was
Shows he was a great actor as he convinced us he was Alf in his acting .
Just love this series. I remember it being released- just such a laugh! Brilliant acting by all the cast. Quality!
These programmes all stands the test of time. And I love them all. They brilliant.

This program isnt even allowed to be shown on BritBox. Neither is Rising Damp. These shows would hurt the feelings of modern lefty snowflakes.
He's right about his opinions, we shouldn't be hushed up, we should be free to speak freely in a so-called democracy. Better days then
Stuff the upset lefties. They don't like it, they can do one
Thats what went wrong with society, people not being allowed to have an opinion
Alf was selfish always sorry for his self and I loved it one of the best comedies ever
I was a kid when this came out, but I love it now. It's hilarious.
Brilliant They don't make programs like this anymore
They are not allowed...?

Wonder what Alf would make of Brexit? He would be a leave, for damn sure!
Alf Garnett was a Tory and a Tory took Britain into the Common Market. Would he have turned Labour just in spite?
Had only Johnny Speight lived, we would have known the answer here. With the show evidently having succumbed to the PC police in its later days, on screen the indications were that Alf was becoming disillusioned with all politicians - which rather figures in real life!
