Don't even try, New Balance's numbering system too complicated to break down

- Please prove me wrong with my perspective on this New Balance numbering system, because all the specifics are missing and very vague. It was too complicated to even break down for me. I wish they would publicly show an index as to why they would number a shoe a certain way, that way I could at least comprehend it and explain it better to you.

I'm sorry for disappointing you all. I wish I had a better explanation as to why the numbers are more vague than a Jackson Pollock painting
BillyVisuals should I get the alphabounce em or any nmd without primeknit?
Guy Minds neither are worth it. Any adidas pk is > mesh
it's not that complicated..
It honestly depends on how much you are planning to walk in those shoes. If you're planning to just go out for a bit then get the Nmd. If you're planning to explore an entire city, you should grab the alphabounce. Nmd with prime knit is and should be much much more comfier than mesh
You know its too compicated when the asians finds it too difficult
Kim Jong Un 😂😂
Asian? I think he's Black, yo!.
It's consistent for high performance running shoes and tennis shoes. That's about it.
(Last 2 digits)
00=racing
10=trail
20=comfort ride
40=motion control
60=standard stability
70= light stability
75=tech ride (whatever that is)
80=neutral daily trainer
90=uptempo trainer
96= all tennis
Hope this helps...
Allen Majane That's all I was able to find online as well. Thanks for the info
Damn
I don't understand why the 1700 shoe has a double zero? It is like a Rockport Shoe. It's not even on the same planet as racing!
@@davidblake8133 what about 1300 and 1500, even funnier
One of my fav youtubers rn
Hooray 😁
As an ex NB employee. The numbers do mean something but there is no exact formula to it.
It's more a pattern to it.
For example in the performance running range they have m1080wb7, m880gy7, m1260og6, m860gy7
MXX80 means neutral. Where XX60 Means stability. Gy7 for example is the colour and version number.
NB do have a lot of numbers because when the company first started designing kicks they thought numbers would differentiate their brand to the competition. Though it numbers are something they don't use much for new silhouette nowadays cuZ they are running out of numbers to use.
I know in the NB line the 99X SERIES are their most premium range from way back in the day. Which is the shoe they put the mk most tech into.
eddyhsu1978 Ahh so it's actually a dated system that most likely needs a refresh now. Thanks for the info dude
What means GM50GBS?
Good content, haven't seen this from anyone else!
Thanks Henry
I always wondered what the codes meant thanks for trying to explain! Great video love the background music.
I never even wondered but now i'm confused lol. I'll just keep with my nice/not nice rating system.
I rate your system nice out of nice 👌
Thanks for giving it a shot. I actually like a numbering system, but the company needs to keep it fairly simple and be very transparent as to what the numbers mean.
I agree!
Most sneaker channels don't even touch New balance so thank you for even attempting!
Great breakdown thank u
It usually makes sense I have the new 1080 and they are amazing for longer runs however my 680 is is light and fast but low in cushion compare to my 860’s it gets confusing with the middle models like the Nitril’s they have no numbers and are just a supportive outdoor shoe. They also have the More V4 which is similar to a 1080 but with more weight more support for shorter runs. Based on the shoes I’ve owned the best was the made in USA 990 and the 1080V12 I have heard the V13 is ground breaking in comparison so I’ll look forward to them. I’m a huge new balance fan and I wish each shoe was marketed with its design on the website. They seem to do a lot of good work engineering shoes for specific applications but without actually visiting a new balance store it becomes harder to know what exactly is the best shoe to buy as they have massively increased offerings in recent years.
Should I buy the alphabounce or the nmd?
Guy Minds it depends if i was working Out I would go with alphabounce not that the nmd is a good workout shoe. But if it's for everyday wear and casual I would go with a nice nmd color way
Mauricio Rodriguez, one more question.
Which one is more comfortable?
I have neither, but judging from BillyVisuals and other shoetubers the Alphabounce would be the more comfortable model
Guy Minds in comfort wise both are comfortable, but the alphabounce is more comfy but bounce and boost fell different. It's really preference. But if I wore to pick just on comfort the alphabounce would win
I have both and I would say the nmd is more comfortable at first but after a while kinda "wears off" the alpha bounce is more persistent and stays comfy longer. This is my experience at least.
Are New Balance 500s Hype?
I've learned that the new balance number system is more complicated then I thought. Thanks for trying though.
sighhh I know 😔
This got me to sub finally.
Devin Woods Thank you 🙏
New Balance gotta simplify this for real.
Damn I always thought that's just how they name their models because it looks so random 👀
VentusMaster Yeah that's what I thought too
it's been a while buddy guy
Thats so strange, I just posted 2 days ago, you can check out the video here: ua-cam.com/video/EqnmWRnU9fE/v-deo.html
I think I should start telling people to click on the bell to get notifications when I post haha
Please expand your shoe variety
My head hurts trying to understand
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) I took like 3 Advils editing this video haha
meh, I like stuff like this. it's like someone trying to figure out what those numbers on the back of a BMW mean or a Lexus. whats a 650i? or whats a LS460? hahah.
Me too.! The numbering is too complited than kardashian clans 😅
:)
hahahahahaha
It is simply because they want to make it harder for any Chinese copycat maker's to produce a fake one's!!!! Lol 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
