Update: I bought another acoustic. Lol
Sorry but the only thing I noticed that this was the first video where you are not wearing your wedding ring...
@@DasTarDyou must be the wife
@@beefnacos6258 Of course I am...

I just bought Gibson LG 2 American eagle, such an amazing guitar
There is always something so beautiful and honest about acoustics that sometimes electrics cannot replicate. Just a man and his guitar might it be. Those are just my two cents.
👍❤️ or a woman and her guitar. (Just saying.)
@@CatsPajamas23 Absolutely!
sometimes can't replicate? they're two different instruments ur blurting out useless info
RC32 strikes again
I think your comment is so true!! Honest is such a great word to describe them :)
I love my Martin and Taylor so much, that I don’t feel the need to buy any other acoustics. That never happens with electric guitars. No matter how great an electric is in my collection, I am always looking for more.
lmao exactly what i thought. altho i wanna try more acoustics im done to own only one or maybe two electrics coz i feel im. never gonna be satisfied like the authenticity the acoustics have !
Acoustic guitars is harder to build than electric . When they passes on tests have unique sounds. Maybe this is the reason.
I feel like i need more acoustic simply because i like to use alot of tunings and i hate completely resetting my guitar between songs. it takes forever. I wish i could afford a good martin or taylor haha. I have a cheap but cozy fender and a bright bamboo from a company called luna.
Yamaha made in Japan are as good for half the price
electric guitars eventually rust. acoustic and classical get better with age.
I love the channel! I went to my local shop a year ago looking for a tele style and left with an Ibanez acoustic that I absolutely fell in love with and it's still my favorite to play. Keep up the awesome channel.
mr music is a fantastic shop, always impeccable service and the folks there love chatting about music. real old-school cool. happy to see it featured
Got to feel good when you call a guitar store and they get so excited for you to come in.
(*sigh*) yep.
Tom is one of those guys, trust me.
You're living the life some of us only dream of. Good for you bud! Keep on rockin'
What a nice person he was so happy that you called him. I like you a lot bcuz you give people that effect instead of you putting on a “good person” show other people do it for you. That’s how we know it’s genuine
Hey, Tyler, huge fan of your videos. Love from Boston!!!
I’ve always enjoyed your videos Tyler, but I’ve only recently appreciated how great a guitarist you are. Keep up with the great content and playing dude.
That Taylor #3 has so much power, projection, and tone, you'd not be able to overcome that as a singer. It's going to be the absolute star of the show when playing acoustically in a room. It's clearly worth every penny if that's what you want. But frankly, I love the tones of Taylor #2. A little less volume, but the clarity and tonal response to your playing is really sweet. If you're in a busker mood, this is the one. Plus, I'm a sucker for a sunburst.
Have to agree.
i was hearing the Eagles hotel california intro
Funny… I thought the Taylor 2 sounded the worst out of them…. 😂. I think 3 sounded the best , followed very closely by 1. I think I’m a sucker for the higher tones.
Martin and Taylor are great guitars but waaaay overpriced for what they offer. Guild D-55 and ZAGER 900CE are great for the money.
# 2 by a nose!
I never thought to use a capo in the guitar store I think I will try that bit of wisdom Tyler, and thank you so much for the amazing video keep up the great work!
That little mediterranean sundance theme you played there was very nice!
I like your acoustic playing because it is just very soothing and makes me wanna pick up my acoustic!
Im finishing my exams for this semester and this video makes for an awesome break, thank you for that❤️
heyy same
Agree
Yeah my pick was the same as yours. Great sound, and great playing. 🤘🎸🤘
Really enjoyed this! 🤘🏼🎸
A trip to Mr Music and a stop at soulfire, which I have heard is now closed, was it for me when I lived there. Lots of great memories from that street and really cool to see. Thanks for sharing your trip, Tyler!

Love my Martin but the Taylor you chose sounded great also,. Love the vids man , keep em comin'
I’m the opposite, I just got my 6th guitar and it was my 2nd electric guitar. I’ve started on my grandmothers acoustic and then I got my own from a flea market for $75 but now I have 2 Taylor’s, a gs mini koa and a grand orchestra 818 in tobacco sunburst, both guitars are vastly different in shape, sound, and construction and they have their own vibes but they both have that clear and articulate Taylor sound that I love
Martin's are the gold standard of acoustic tone.
The intro and outro music was nice, good example of acoustic playing.
Martin or Maton?...both are pretty nice!
Larrivee
Yeah Martin’s are definitely the best. I have a really nice Taylor that I’ve never played since getting a Martin
@@JohnBiddleMusic Taylor’s are easier to play, martins are harder to play but have a really strong tone
@@davidkadlec3518 agree!! I went in to the store set on buying a Martin D-28 and walked out with a Larrivee D-03. it absolutely blew the Martin out of the water in every single way. And was under half of the price. I now own 3 larrivees and can't speak highly enough of them!
I LOVE this store. I was recording at a studio in Allston, MA back right before the pandemic and I came upon Mr. Music whilst walking around the neighborhood. Tom was wicked fun to chat with. We got on the topic of Vintage Red Label Yamaha dreadnoughts and my guy busts out a binder with newspaper ads all the way back to the late 60's or early 70's when he was selling them for $65! I played a bunch of his acoustic inventory and he gave me a tshirt and some other swag. Great video Tyler! As to your point about people keeping big collections of electric guitars with only an acoustic or two to speak of. My collection is the opposite. It's 2 electric guitars and 12 acoustics at my house (including 2 Red Label Yammers). But the real peak of the collection is the Taylor 914 with the Cindy inlays.
I have two Taylors, one more for gigs but use both for recording. They both sound different but definitely have that Taylor 'sparkle' high end. They're the PRS of the Acoustic world I feel, not afraid to experiment and tweak their designs. They also have a great attitude to sustainability!

Honestly prs has solid acoustics too. If you like low action on it at least it almost feels like an electric with the right strings. It also just fits my hand perfectly for some reason I only have the feeling on a few of my instruments.
@@jayhips625 You beat me to it! I'm not sure what their overseas acoustics sound like, but I have a couple of made in Maryland Angelus acoustics that are beautiful guitars.
I must say Tyler, this is the most impressive tone i've seen you achieve!
I got my first acoustic at Mr Music in 1987! I lived around the corner on Chester Street. It was a brand new Yamaha FG 420C. I traded my 73 Tele for it. I got a lot of mileage out of that Yamaha...but I wish I still had the Tele. Glad to see Mr. Music is still there.
I'll have to check them out on Saturday before the concert I'm going to.
I'm exactly the same, 13 electric guitars and one beautiful Larrivee acoustic that I've had for years and still love 😍
I've always LOVED the sound of Taylor acoustics. It never fails that when I hear someone playing acoustic and an mesmerized my their tone that it turns out they're playing a Taylor!

Cole Clark guitars are beautiful and unique sounding on their own. It's an Australian brand made with Australian lumber and they are known for their 3-way pickup system. You should definitely give their guitars a test sometime because they are definitely up there with Taylors and Martins.
I am the total opposite, I have a ton of acoustics and only one hollow body electric. I have always thought the sound of an electric can be replicated with pedals and effects but an acoustic is a one of a kind. No two will ever sound exactly alike so I have collected a bunch with very different sounds that I love. I am looking at getting a solid electric but can't make up my mind so I am open to suggestions. (currently eyeing up an epiphone koa Les Paul) I love that wood grain look.
I have a Martin D-15m and he is my best buddy. ❤ The only other acoustic I'd get would be a 12-string - and that's just different.
always love your show!!!!!!
I love my Taylor 214ce dlx. It’s a wonderful guitar. I got it used for 900 but it might as well have been new. Looks stunning, plays incredible. Now I just have to get better at playing it.
It's an amazing guitar. Was my only acoustic for almost 10 years. Sadly mine got cracked from an accident but it still sounds good
I've got an 80's Washburn Ltd edition I picked up second hand, and although it's got a slippy B and G (needs new hardware), I super love it.
My 67 Martin D35 is one of two acoustics I own but the only one I really play. It's got special mojo to it for me. Probably from growing up hearing my dad play it all my life, but now I own it and It's just my own little piece of heaven. There is something special when you find an acoustic you just vibe with. The neck has to feel right, the body has to feel good against your gut, the tone has to hit you JUST right. For me, Martin is the way to go. I haven't touched my Yamaha since I got the Martin.
#1 taylor definitely my favourite, like that brighter sound you get with it.
1:10 in, and I have to stop to comment. What an amazing and inspiring front window they have, with guitars greats proudly shown :D
I have a 1995 Taylor 412 Koa which has a hand written model info sticker by Bob Taylor in the body near neck joint, from before they started printing them out and making them visible through the sound hole. I bought it in mint condition as a potential future collectors item but took it out to show a friend in 2011 and it sounded and played so well (to my much more mature playing hands by that point) that now it's my daily played acoustic - with all the dinks and dents that come with that and probably shouldn't be on it... It is just a magnificent acoustic guitar that needs playing. I owned Martins before that and still love them, but this Taylor snagged me
Just recently purchased another acoustic. Making it my 5th acoustic versus my 9 electrics. Played only martin and taylors from 1300.00-3000.00. After playing several for hours, returning next day, I continued to play different models. Walked out with 314ce taylor and man i love it!!! I play a little martin alot, easy walk around the house driving the wife nuts. Pulled my Taylor out couple days ago and strummed a g chord and thought to myself why i dont play nothing but my taylor. Sounds incredible and so easy to play. Side note signed up for guitar super systems yesterday. Fret hand wrist is in a brace at the moment, but I can't wait to check it out. Been playing over 30yrs self tought and figured i can benefit from your knowledge of the instrument. Thanks for what you do!!

Oh I love that door handle. 🎸
Thinking of having one installed in my studio XD
Not sure why but I also have just one acoustic and almost a dozen electrics. My only acoustic is an old Washburn that I fell in love with a long time ago. Bought my son a Taylor GS and it is a beautiful sounding guitar, they have a sound of their own for sure, and every one is different.
Really love the sound on the flat natural satin finishes vs the glossy finishes for some reason
Just ordered a Taylor 214ce k deluxe. Cant wait for it to get here!!
Thank you! That was entertaining! I liked the Taylor sunburst the best!
I love my Taylor, glad to see them getting some love, they definitely do have a really large range in their sound and construction. Their mid range is in my opinion, one of the best options for people starting out or that have been playing for years, great sound without breaking the bank and a lot of wood options :D

I got a Taylor 814ce but I just picked up the coolest vintage acoustic by fender; a ‘68 kingman wildwood. Has an electric strat like neck and a bridge that can be intonated. It’s just so cool
I still want to see Tyler do a video on the Cort Manson MBM-1 guitar, the signature guitar of Matt Bellamy, especially the one with the midi controller built in. Such a cool and interesting guitar.
The Cort G300 pro is also very cool. I’ll have to check out the MBM-1 tho
yessssss
Ive got an ovation only accoustic i ever owned it was a hand me down from my pops best accoustic guitar ive ever pkayed it sounds beautiful and the finish is gorgeous
I have 2 acoustics, my father in law got me a cheap beginner one that was so comfortable to play, that it got me back into learning at 38. My first guitar I still have, a Jasmine brand acoustic electric thst I got at daddy's junky music in boston.(long gone I think) it was 110$ used back in 05 and it won't stay in tune and the truss rod won't stay where I like it but I LOVE the sound on it. If I ever decide to take my playing to thr point where I'd play open mics, I would probably invest in a better acoustic but man, that Jasmine just sounds so warm.
I’ve got my epiphone Pr200 Na acoustic with like 4 year old strings and it’s my favorite acoustic I’ve ever played. Was my first guitar and will probably be my only acoustic
My only accoustic is that mahogany Martin D-15 at 5:30. It's an amazing guitar, you feel like you are tapping directly into the historical bed of guitar music when playing it. It's a proper blues machine.

I was trying to find the right words to describe what I felt hearing that Martin just now when I saw this comment and thought: why improve a perfect thing? Thank you.
The Taylors were nice but the Martin just spoke to me.
That was a 00015m and they’re amazing.
That’s a 000-15. I have and love playing it.
I have one very similar. It's the sweetest thing - big and deep and resonant, but still plays LIKE BUTTA DOOD!
Tommy is a mensch!
I love going to Mr. Music, always have to browse every guitar and bass before I buy whatever I came in for.
Number 3 was the best one in this video. It's funny I have had a lot of acoustics over the years (including Martins). My absolute favorite and it may seem odd is the Taylor GS mini mahogany. It sounds good for how small it is and is just so easy and fun to play. I have sold off all my other acoustics and now only have the GS mini and a Fender Telecaster.
I have the GS mini koa, I like it for sure. But my Gibson LG 2 american eagle, as a small bodied guitar, is amazing
Since your goal is to play every guitar in the world, what about trying some tagima ones? It's a Brazillian brand. Its really popular arround here, and people love to compare them to fenders, to see if it can do the job. Especially the tagima T635, which is the equivalent of the fender standard, i would say.
I'm sure i'm not the only one that wondered what you could pull of with one of these. Greetings from Brazil🇧🇷!

I love my taylor 812, amazing guitar.
Totally feel the sentiment of just one acoustic, I’ve owned many electric guitars over the last 8 years but my Taylor is the only acoustic that’s stayed with me! I just don’t really feel the urge to get another acoustic because my Taylor just does it all

In my opinion, you sounded best on the Martin, the thing I like is the consistency of the brand in relation to how they will sound
I'm a big Martin simp, and I have basically the same guitar, so I'm biased, but I just will never get over that lovely deep Martin mahogany tone and the LIKE BUTTA DOOD action.
So true. I have 6 electric guitars and one Alvarez PD100S that has a great sound.
While I love hearing Tyler shred and bend like the son of Steve Vai, its really nice for some acoustic guitar spotlight, even if purely for sonic change. And of course I'm partial to Taylor guitars for the namesake and cause they are awesome (albeit not for everyone). Thanks Tyler for making great music! Hope your Taylor guitar brings you great joy
Hey Tyler. You should check out Faith guitars and the Eastman range guitars. I know it's not a Martin or taylor by any means but they do offer incredible quality build for the money. Thankyou for your videos by the way .brilliant

i am from Boston.. I bought my 12 string Rick from MR. Music back in 1982... Great place.
Tone, balance, looks- I agree with your pick !
Oh this is in Allston yea? I went to Berklee and I would go to Allston every week for that bowl of ramen at the chinese supermarket or Korean fried chicken at Bonchon. You know what I'm talking about if you live in Boston. But I've never set foot in Mr. Music for whatever reason LOL. My go-to guitar place was the Guitar Center at Fenway. Just didn't find the need to check other places out.
Great job buddy you got to give us lowly members a shot at getting a album you must go forth and Sherd grass hopper I want I want
Yes, 20 electric from LPs to PRS and Fender Strats and only one Acoustic. A250.00 Luna I just love and play all the time. It just plays great.
Funny thing is I’ve only had the one electric guitar for 20+ years but a handful of acoustic guitars since then. I’m a always looking for different electric guitars but just end up buying gear that isn’t even guitar based but other gear to further my music making process. Cheers to all you musicians out there🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
🤘🏼🤘🏼
Ah...I have only one acoustic to...Norman Guitar...looks similar to that natural Martin. I bought it cause I loved the smell of it, neck shape, and rosewood fingerboard... NEver looked any other guitar since then....But that Martin looks cool :)
I've been a dedicated Taylor player having owned 5 different models. Hope to see more Taylors in your videos, brother!
I called number 3 as soon as you started playing it 🤣 it has "it" and the other two (or three, technically), while they are nice, do not. I also only have one acoustic, and it's a Dean that my parents bought me when I was 16 (I'm 40 now). Somehow two non-players found me a beautiful instrument and though I've wanted others, and have bought several more electric guitars, I've stuck by that acoustic and I plan to continue. Nice purchase, Tyler!
I have owned probably 40 electrics across my life, and a few acoustics. But at this time I have 6 electrics, but only ONE acoustic. And it is in fact the very first guitar I ever bought. An Alvarez. Not the nicest. Not expensive. But I love it.
I have a pretty even split. 6 electrics, 6 acoustics, and an electric bass but I started on an acoustic and only started getting into electrics a few years ago. That was when many purchases happened rapid fire...
I really love the logo from the guitar shop
I've never played a Taylor. I do however own and LOVE my Martin's. I have a 2016 X series and a 1999 HD-28. Both sound great but the D-28 is heart-melting. I would still love to play a Taylor. The problem is I'm a lefty, so finding a left hand guitar in a store is very, very, very, very, very rare.
I have a Carvin 2.5" Thin Line (its old paid around $1,200ish ) which I love, a Taylor 314 Concert single cut ($1800 ish love the tone better than the more expensive 414, 515, 915!). So two steel string guitars. But I have a 2.5" Carvin Classical, a 1963? Gibson Classical, and an Epiphone Chet Atkins Classical (MIK). Love them all and none will ever be available on Reverb while I am vertical Orange
Well, I own two acoustics, both of which fit into the price class mentioned in the video: an LAG Tramontane Grand Auditorium with nylon strings, and a Crafter ABLE Grand Auditorium with steel strings. I prefer the Grand Auditorium over any other acoustic body shape. I own two acoustics because I love having a choice between nylon and steel, depending on what sound a song "needs".
I've only just recently started to learn electric guitar, and I was quite surprised at how different it is. We'll see where this journey ends.
Is that a little nod to Wonderboy by Tenacious D at 2:55? Nicely done..
Wow that's funny. I have the Taylor 214 ce-k with the Mat finish spruce top and Koa back. $1200 I love it. I thought it sounded better then their $3999 model. But in this video the one you played definitely had such a resonance in the high notes that were pretty amazing!
Funny that Tyler played a Martin 00015m in this video. I have one from 2017 and I feel like it's the only acoustic I'll ever need. EXTREMELY playable, lots of sustain and woody, authentic tone for days, lovely smell and feel of an all mahogany guitar - and last but not least VERSATILE as hell. Responsive and comfortable for both strumming and especially fingerpicking.
I like it a lot better than the more expensive standard series.
love this man.
That piece you played at around the 3 minute mark is so pretty.
It probably sounds so good because he uses the a harmonic. Sounds so good.
That moon on the wall in the back is something else
I started my journey on a nylon acoustic after listening to Eric Clapton Unplugged, it still sounds amazing
