how is this possible 2^5 2^7 = 2^14?
Great teacher
Thank you! 😃
Mam but on rechecking the m and n values right and left side are not same
Hi there! Are you referring to question 3? In that situation, we were able to reduce the equation down to 2^18 times 5^m on the left, and 2^2n and 5^n on the right. You'll see this at 35:50. Once you have an equation with the bases as reduced as possible, you set the common bases equal to each other. IN other words, 2^18 must equal 2^2n, and 5^m must equal 5^n. Why? Because in order for the sides to be equal, there must be the same number of 2s on both sides and the same number of 5s. Because there are 18 twos on the left, there must be 18 twos on the right. so 2^2n must be equal to 2^18. Therefore 2n = 18, or n = 9. Similarly, the number of 5s must be the same on both sides, so m must equal n. If n = 9, then m = 9. Hope this helps! :)
@@manhattanprepgre7390 That is one possible solution but it isn't the only one here because you have two variables. If you plug in three for N for example, and you could get a different value for M
Thanks ✌🏾
