Smothered Pork Chops by Chef Bae

- Recipe:
- 4-6 Pork chops
- 3/4 cup flour
- 1 cup of water
- 1 cup of chicken broth
- 1 Yellow Onion (sliced)
- 1 tbsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
- 1/2 pack of Sazon
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp onion powder
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
Clean pork chops thoroughly, pat dry with a paper towel and set aside.
Combine the seasonings in a small bowl. Coat each pork chop with the seasoning mixture then evenly coat the chops in flour. Save leftover seasoning for later use in onion gravy.
Heat vegetable oil in skillet over medium-high heat. When the oil is hot, add pork chops and brown on each side for about three-five minutes.
Once your meat is browned, remove it from the skillet and allow to cool on a plate covered with paper towels. Leave the drippings in the pan for our next step which is the onion gravy.
Add roughly 2 tablespoons of flour to the pan stir until golden brown. (The flour will clump into little bits, that's o.k. Pay close attention so the gravy “clumps” do not burn.)
Slowly add two cups water to the gravy “clumps” and stir. Stir continuously, until the sauce is smooth. There should be no clumps or lumps in the gravy.
Taste occasionally to see if you need to add more salt/ seasonings.
While gravy is simmering, return the pork chops to skillet. Reduce heat to low, cover and cook for about 45 mins. Serve over rice with veggies.

I use a lil mustard with the seasoning and I fry them a Lil longer because of the gravy so juicy and crispy 😩🥰🤤

when do u add the chicken broth, with the water when making the gravy?
Take the meat out of the oil then make the gravy in the oil with onions, garlic, chicken broth, a tablespoon of flour to thicken, and half and half cream. No water just broth.

You can use any herb seasoning you like. Throw in some Lipton onion soup mix for even stronger flavor.

Cook the pork chops first. It’s ok if you only can cook 2-3 chops at a time. After you cook the chops in batches, make your gravy❤️❤️❤️
