Lily, you may be allergic to lanolin - I am, and yet it's such a moisturising ingredient that most lip balms are full of it. If you find some balms actually make your lips worse, check the ingredients (and also check whether the Bioderma one is lanolin-free as that will also be a clue!) I'm so glad I know as it makes it really easy to avoid things that will make my lips dry and sore. P.S. I LOVE the product cutaways here with all the information - so professional and beautifully edited. I've been watching your videos for easily 5 years if not longer, and I think this is one of your best beauty vidoes ever! Happy Sunday xxx
I always feel like you don't get enough credit for your editing skills. You seem to put so much effort in it. It always looks so clean and pro, I really appreciate that. Congrats and keep up the good work.
Agreed. The editing is superb. I watch a lot of beauty vloggers and your editing is definitely the most professional looking. Your voice is also so calming. All the best to you for a happy and fruitful 2017.
Also, I know you said you've tried everything for your lips so I'm sorry if this is going to annoy you, but if you haven't yet tried this product, I would really recommend First Aid Beauty's Ultra Repair Lip Therapy. It has no mineral oil. It contains jojoba, shea, grape seed oil, licorice extract. I've had the same lip problems that you've experienced and it honestly healed my lips completely. 100%. I get it from Sephora. If you can't get it easily in the UK, I'd be happy to send you a tube to your PO box. Let me know.
Totally agree about your editing skills. It's always clear you've put a lot of work in and the editing is perfect. I also find you really refreshing to watch. You'll always give honest opinions and aren't afraid to say what you think.
I know this may seem odd but, I love the lighting of your videos! Its got the perfect warmth to it and your calming voice just makes the whole video such a pleasure to watch on a Sunday morning! x
Perfect edit today! When you are not from the UK or US it's so nice to stop and read the price and all the informations. Thanks! Love it. Whish you can do that all the time, when it comes to beauty products .... Happy new year :)
Thank you for making an annual favorites video! I love watching you and Anna's round up every year. I noticed you don't have a favorite primer this year (or in the last few years). Do you have a favorite? I've been thinking about trying the Too Faced Hangover Replenishing Face Primer, and was surprised it's not in your video. You and Anna seem to really like it!
Its so useful to see the main information about the product while watching the video so you don't have to stop it and visit the website to discover the price if its affordable or not 😊 ❤️that's why I love you, always improving!👌👏
Great video as always! I love how you put up an info box when you mentioned a new product and I wish more youtubers did the same. It makes your videos look really smart and professional and shows just how much effort you put into the edit!
How funny! When you were talking about the palette & mentioned that you don't like when they have a bone color & a black one, I was like "THOSE ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT SHADES FOR ME!" :P made me giggle!
Lily Pebbles I mentioned I would use the bone shade to set my eye primer or base from lash line to brow bone so the eyeshadows blend easier rather than drag across an oily eyelid or any eye primer used to cover darker lids or veins, etc. that can be slightly tacky. If it is light enough it can be used as a under brow highlighter.
I found it so funny when you spoke about the Zoeva palette - I always look for bone as a base and black as soft liner in a neutrals palette! Preferred your video to the conventional yearly favourites concept xx
Loving the graphics, typography and cut always on this video, Lily. It looks so sleek and professional so when that's paired with your personable chatty character it makes for such a perfect video. In a wave of 2016 Beauty Vids this stood out among the rest and was super super super! Thanks. X
I love the way your makeup looks in this video! I really appreciate a way to talk about beauty and makeup that's not super heavily made up. Thanks so much for a great video!
I love this video it is so helpful, I get what you mean about the yearly favourites getting repetitive definitely prefer this version btw love the product cut away with all the information 💖
This is the best favorites video I've seen this year, your editing is so modern and clean I love it! Keep up the great work Lily! Just want to let you know all the details do not go unnoticed. Your video from the Chanel trip in the South of France is still one of the best 'UA-camr' videos I've ever seen.
I loved all the products you mentioned. Also BIG cudos for the editing and the way you presented the products on screen. I know that is something you pride yourself on and that you put a lot of effort in. As a long time viewer/subscriber I appreciate it!
Loved this video lily! So helpful with all the product details!! Just took a load of screenshots! I definitely want to try the Clinique cleansing balm.
Definitely need a bone and black in an eyeshadow palette...those are staples. :-)) I think it's because you don't wear a lot of makeup and prefer a very natural look that's why you can do without them. I was surprised you said the Kylie lip colors but if you want the same thing buy Colorpop. They're a lot cheaper and actually Kylie cosmetics is made at the Colorpop factory...just an fyi. Enjoy all your videos...so keep 'em coming. XO
For your lips have you tried the Eucerin Aquaphor moisturizer? I've used it when my lips where so dry and chapped I couldn't even smile and it did a miracle, I can't live without it now.
Excellent lay out and pace of talking about the products in this video. Also, the backdrop and the lighting are perfect. Would enjoy seeing a tutorial on the makeup look you are wearing here in this video. Keep up the fabulous work! Sending best wishes from the USA.
Great video Lily! You're right not to keep doing yearly favourites as you're at a point where not many of your core products change and you're not "going off" things but it's good to round up all the new and even older products you discovered this year. I'm really excited to try the Philip Kingsley shampoo. Periodically I get an itchy scalp and I've tried loads of different shampoos and they never work and I remembered Ruth recommended something when I wasn't having a problem and I've been scouring her blog and UA-cam with no results so I'm very very happy you mentioned this!!
If I could create a palette of all the bone shades from all the palettes I love I would!! and a black to set my liner ;-) that would be my go to everyday palette
Happy new year Lily! Lovely video! I actually use the light cream and the black eyeshadows in the palettes. I use the cream to highlight under the brow and in the inner corners and the black as an eyeliner on its own or to set my eyeliner.
I think this was such a good en well-executed video! Definitely the way to do a yearly favourites type of video. In particular the split-screen with the product on the left and info on the right was very good, for sure something to keep doing. Also, now I have a shopping list as long as my arm.
Yes! I always use the lightest and darkest shades in a palette. I use the light on center of lid and corners of eyes and the darkest to go over liner to soften and set.
Lily, you edit, film and present so well! You also speak very relaxed and not hyper. Since I've started using shampoo and conditioner without silicones, parabenes and sulfates, my hair has been fantastic! I used to have split ends 2 weeks after my haircut, now I can easily go 6 months without cutting. I also never need to use one of those clearing shampoo's anymore and my hair is stronger. My tip: find a really good natural shampoo and contioner, it might help for those of you with weak hair.
Hi Lily, thanks for sharing the info on the products you enjoyed. I really enjoy your videos and think you are great. I just read some of the comments and found them a bit nit-picky, so I wanted to say something nice and hopefully give a little joy. Your wonderful, keep up the great videos! Happy New Years 🌟
I tend to always carry a palette in my purse that has a black and very light, off-white color. I love the versatility! I wet my brush and use the black as an eyeliner on the go, and in a pinch I can use the bone color to set my concealer! So essential for touching up on the go
Happy new year Lilly sending you much love and sweet Irish blessings for an amazing and an even more wonderful creative 2017. I love quite a lot of your beauty favs & loved how you put all the information up on screen as you showed them very informative video thank you. 😘🙏😘
Try using Bepanthen on your lips until they feel better. I had a similar issue with them last winter and it helped a lot! And as an everyday lipbalm try to go for something that has a natural ingredient as its base, e.g. Weleda is great.
What do you have on your nails? Pretty colour! I love the la Roche posay cicaplast lip balm. My lips are so dry and always crack in the corners. This sorts it out. It comes in a wee squeezy tube and I love it.
Beautiful editing! Looks very clean and professional :) That Zoeva palette is gorgeous too! I love the shades. Looking forward to your bullet journal video :)
I really loved the transitions in this video, Lily! But I'm quite a fast reader and I found that the text was disappearing a few seconds before I could properly finish reading! Otherwise a seriously great video xx
Not sure if it is available in the UK, but Carmex in the little pot (healing balm - there are different formulas-so look for the one in the little pot) is so good! It has truly saved my lips!
Totally agree about the Ameliorate cream. Completely got rid of my chicken skin on the back of my arms in a couple of weeks and my skin is SO smooth. Amazing
Lily, for your lips, you should try Homéostick (the stick version of Homéoplasmine) and also Cicabiafine.I tried everything under the sun when I was on Accutane last year but these are the only two products that worked and soothed my sore, peeling lips.
Great video Lily! Thanks! Do you think benefit eyebrow pencil is better than soap and glory equivalent? Think you talked about that on your blog before - I use it but would probs upgrade if benefit was better
I kind of did my 2016 favorites as a beauty discoveries video, too! Loved this! I think I need to try that Ouai clarifying shampoo since my hair is colored and I've had a hard time finding one that won't affect it!
Lily have you tried La Roc Possy Cicoplast lip balm. I've had really dry lips like yourself...nothing worked except this, might be an idea. Pharmacist recommended it to me. I feel your pain. Love your blogs, your skin looks really fresh and bright
As a lip product lover I know it sucks to think of it like this, but when my lips went super sensitive and reactive like yours, I realised I probably needed to chill on the lip products. There's just stuff in a lot of lip products that doesn't agree with some people. Now I save lip products for a one off and only use products that are very natural. My lips are happy now. Anyhoo, I hope the break from lip products is helping you too.
Finally someone who doesn't like black eyeshadow in palettes. :D I never use them but I feel like everyone is saying that palettes should have a black. :D But bone colours I like, because I use them as a highlighting shade.
Love you lily! 💃🏻 where's your jumper from btw? Also, you're absolutely beautiful and I love how your videos aren't like favourites, it makes it much more interesting to watch! 😊xx
I love the detail of information on the cutaways, but may I suggest a larger font next time? Especially for those of us watching on our phones. Have a great year, Lily! Hope it's every bit as nice as 2016 and even more so. It's been a joy watching you accomplish so much in 2016.
Just watched this! I really want to try the MAC eyeliner pencil I'm searching for a good one atm! I love the style of your videos the way you have done the cutaways for it! I recently got final cut pro really excited to learn how to do more when editing my videos especially with my new camera too!
I would be really interested to see what you thought of the jeffree star liquid Lipstick. If you have ever try them please put in a video. I've been watching for years and never miss a video! I am quite but loyal 😘
I have a suggestion for your lips ( If you haven't already tried it!) Weleda skin food is my go to for anything skin related, eczema patches, new tattoos, sore lips, you name it! I hope you find something that works for you soon x
Lily, you may be allergic to lanolin - I am, and yet it's such a moisturising ingredient that most lip balms are full of it. Really, really like the product cut aways. So useful and professional looking.
Sara Mathews you took the words out of my mouth ... they looked great
Lily Pebbles love it! Soooo helpfull.
Sara Mathews completely agree! Classy and beautiful editing! Nice one lily ❤
Same here ! Absolutely brilliant !
Sara Mathews Definitely. It looked great and was really helpful too. Loved it.
I always use the black shade in eyeshadow palettes with a damp thin brush to do smokey eyeliner, really enjoyed this video!
Poppy Mullins and I love the bone colours for highlighting under the brow, because I'm super pale they're the only shades that work
Poppy Mullins I do the same with the black in a palette. I own other blacks, but I like being able to do everything out of one palette :)
Poppy Mullins I do the same as an eyeliner and bone for under the brow too!
NinaMarie same everything else is too dark
Lily Pebbles completely understand it can sometimes look too dark on me too
Your editing is so so good!! Also, your jumper looks so warm and cosy 😊
I love wrapping up under my duvet and watching your video (and Anna's), sunday mornings are the best!
Loving the cutaways! Now I can screenshot the products I want to get!! 😏💖
Its so useful to see the main information about the product while watching the video so you don't have to stop it and visit the website to discover the price if its affordable or not 😊 ❤️that's why I love you, always improving!👌👏

How funny! When you were talking about the palette & mentioned that you don't like when they have a bone color & a black one, I was like "THOSE ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT SHADES FOR ME!" :P made me giggle!
Lana I thought the same, I always hit pan on the bone first!
Lily Pebbles I mentioned I would use the bone shade to set my eye primer or base from lash line to brow bone so the eyeshadows blend easier rather than drag across an oily eyelid or any eye primer used to cover darker lids or veins, etc. that can be slightly tacky. I appreciate you sticking to favorite discoveries of the year, that way it is much easier to follow along.
Your sweater looks so cosy and nice❤️
I love the new editing style ! It's very elegant and chic 😊❤️
Thank you for making this a NEW beauty discoveries! I think this is a much better idea than a Best of Beauty video everyone does every year.
This is the best favorites video I've seen this year, your editing is so modern and clean I love it! Keep up the great work Lily! Just want to let you know all the details do not go unnoticed. Your video from the Chanel trip in the South of France is still one of the best 'UA-camr' videos I've ever seen.

I'm so excited for your bullet journal video! I want to give bullet journaling a try
I really appreciate your videos, they're the only ones I always watch. I love your unique style and personality
Love the new close up cut aways technique :)
Loved this video lily! So helpful with all the product details!! Just took a load of screenshots! I definitely want to try the Clinique cleansing balm.
Hi Lily-- loved this video! Thanks for changing things up. I appreciate your creativity.
Loved this so much Lily - loving the new fresh format and approach!

i always use the black in the nude spectrum as a smokey liner or to define a bit, i love it!
Loving the new style cutaways Lily 👍🏻
I love the way you did the cutaways in this video, Lily!
Your skin looks amazing - I should definitely give that foundation a try! Loved the informative cutaways.
really like the way you did cutaways. very informative!
Does anyone ever use a bone colour? Are you serious?!
Ik! I use one every single day without fail
Andrea Fin Yes. Everyday. Too set my eye base for blending so the shadows don't stick or drag and if it is very light as a brow highlight. 🤗

Loved the video! I think it's much more interesting than a 2016 favourites video, which tends to be so repetitive! x
Loving the cut aways too! I never read the description boxes (sorry) so this is brilliant Lily!
Love the way you've been editing recently!! And so pleased you did this video but that you did it your way! X
Hi Lily, thanks for sharing the info on the products you enjoyed. I really enjoy your videos and think you are great. I just read some of the comments and found them a bit nit-picky, so I wanted to say something nice and hopefully give a little joy. Your wonderful, keep up the great videos! Happy New Years 🌟
Loving this new swoosh product info Lily, always appreciate your creativity x
Love everything I've tried from the OUAI range. The texturising spray, repair shampoo and the hair oil are amaaaazing ❤🐒
I tend to always carry a palette in my purse that has a black and very light, off-white color. I love the versatility! I wet my brush and use the black as an eyeliner on the go, and in a pinch I can use the bone color to set my concealer! So essential for touching up on the go

I always use the lightest shade in a palette as a highlight, but I could totally do without a black.
My favourites: Mac hush, Mac watergeith foundation, Nars laguna bronzer, Chanel soleil tan, too faced chocolate bar. Lovely your favourites! 👏👏👏😘💞
thankyou for listing the products from 2014-15 that you still love in the description! xxx

❤ this video Lily. The cutaways are amazing and so helpful. x
Love the cut aways and the format! Great content as always!😘

Phillip Kingsley is also available on QVC, they do the elasticiser leave in treatment too if anything ever sells out on feel unique!
So excited for your Bullet Journal video!! This one was wonderful too, as always xx
What do you have on your nails? Pretty colour! I love the la Roche posay cicaplast lip balm. My lips are so dry and always crack in the corners. This sorts it out. It comes in a wee squeezy tube and I love it.
Great video and you really seemed to enjoy making it!! I loved your nail polish what is it exactly? I love these colors you always choose!! 😊
Beautiful editing! Looks very clean and professional :) That Zoeva palette is gorgeous too! I love the shades. Looking forward to your bullet journal video :)
Love the format of this video so much! xo
I really loved the transitions in this video, Lily! But I'm quite a fast reader and I found that the text was disappearing a few seconds before I could properly finish reading! Otherwise a seriously great video xx
Less text may be better, you're right! But definitely keep the transitions in because they add a great new element to your videos :) x
LOVE the cut aways Lily!!
Not sure if it is available in the UK, but Carmex in the little pot (healing balm - there are different formulas-so look for the one in the little pot) is so good! It has truly saved my lips!
Loved this Lily! Such a good idea and really interesting, your channel is one of the only ones I always watch without fail! Happy 2017 xx
I really liked the new cutaway style Lily! Such a great idea x

Really love how you've edited this! And some lovely recommendations to check out, thanks x
Lovely vídeo!! And edition has been sooo nice! 👄
Really like the format of showing a snapshot of the product cost etc. Nice work!
Totally agree about the Ameliorate cream. Completely got rid of my chicken skin on the back of my arms in a couple of weeks and my skin is SO smooth. Amazing
Loved this video! Also loved how you placed the descriptions in the cutaways :D
Love the new editing :) Your video are always the best, Lily! :*
What nail polish are you wearing? 😍
Lovely video as always Lily! also, I love your hair!!!!
Love the additional cutaways! Have you tried Dr Lipp?? That's my favourite for dry lips xx
Love you lily! 💃🏻 where's your jumper from btw? Also, you're absolutely beautiful and I love how your videos aren't like favourites, it makes it much more interesting to watch! 😊xx
Ahah don't worry! Just me getting too excited for the video and not looking in the description box!!
Eucerin aquaphor saved my extremely dry lips last winter. Now it's the only lip balm (healing ointment) that I use.
Love the new cutaways, Lily!
Great favourites, I like a palette with black and bone. I use them all the time ! Black for eyeliner and bone foe blending and eyebrow.
I always use the black and the bone colour is actually always the first one I finish in palettes!
Yay! Can't wait to start my own bullet journal after your video!
you might want to try the Lainage lip mask. It might helps.
