First world countries aren't interested in recycling, but in consumerism. In many third world countries recycling is a way of life, 'cause many can't afford to just throw the "old" shit and but new shit.
First world countries rather dump their waste in third world countries. Happens all the time in Canada (they dumped Waste to Malaysia and Philippines)and UK (dump broken appliances to Africa).
