- When the evap fan on a Maytag fridge goes inop, the Samurai does a pro appliance repair move and pulls out the schematic. Using this as a guide, he's able to test to see if the famous jazz control board is working with minimum disassembly.

I'm so glad I went to this school, great video as always! Great group of folks if you need appliance repair training. Even after school, support is second to none.
Domo, @CLP2102! So glad to hear that your training and tech support at MST was a positive and beneficial experience for you!
Old jazz board model…. Nice… It’s been a few years since I’ve seen one of those.
These old jazz boards are still in current production in new refrigerators
Awesome as always ! Thanks a lot!
Glad you liked it!

I have a question if the boards output is 120v to the fan. Doesn’t that tell you that the board is doing its job and outputting 120 V and the fan is the problem. Thanks
Rewatch the first couple of minutes of the video. The board is NOT switching Line voltage to the evap fan-- it switching Neutral. Line is always present at the load in this circuit. But without Neutral, there is not complete circuit so electrons will not move and the load will not do any work.
What iPad do you recommend we buy, and where is the best place to get tech sheets quick?
I use one of the smaller iPads because it’s easier to carry in service calls. I get tech sheets and service manuals at Appliantology.org. Need to be a tech member to download. This page explains tech membership options: appliantology.org/blogs/entry/1027-tech-memberships-at-appliantology/
