    I'm playing the Japanese version. I'm happy they are getting a global version, finally, a lot of my friends that doesn't speak japanese were waiting for it. This game has their own fanbase. Made by KEY. If you seen Clannad, AIR, Angel Beats, Little Busters etc, well you know what to expect, same creator. Probably not going to compete with WuWa, Genshin, HSR etc. This is entirely different genre. It's like one of KEY's Visual Novels but with combat and gacha. Pretty standard RPG style.

      HBR won't hold a candle to HSR in everything aside from story, but who cares? HBR is here to do it's own thing, and it's story needs to be read by more people

    The longer they wait to release these games, the less of a chance they have to succeed. Even though WuWa is a different genre, people's expectations of quality in gachas are increasing because of it. It's now or never.

      That's only because people measure success incorrectly. These games don't need millions to succeed because 1. they already have the content completed and don't rely on multiple different audiences to make the next batch of content. 2. They aren't massive games so the money mostly goes to paying the small teams they have to create the translations, publishing, and global servers.
      So I'd say that you're incorrect especially since I've spoke with developers of games who barely make a million a month and that's more than enough to keep production of the game. That's why you see PTN still doing okay and receiving full English voice overs. That's why Arknights can do well on it's slow months because it's been making more than it ever needed to stay active. It's why PGR can stay active for years while still making better content with vast improvements. You don't need Genshin, WuWa or even Arknights money to be successful for these smaller games.
      Edit: Also, people have unhealthy expectations. That's why a game like Heaven Burns Red continues to make millions every month and the fact that it came later doesn't change that it's a good game and that's why so many people on Twitter are excited today. It just came late to global. It's not "Now or never" for good games. It's "Now or never" for cash grabs.

      @@IAMCha0tik I do agree that a lot of people have unrealistic measures of success. Heck, I've seen people insisting that WuWa was a disapointment because it didn't beat Genshin.
      That said... I also believe that HBR could probably have reached a larger audience if it recieved a Global version closer to it's original release. The expectations towards mobile game are indeed increasing, and the hype around any live-service game that takes too long to recieve an English release tends to die down. (I'm genuinely curious, can you think of any gacha game that really popped off with a 2 years + gap between the original and the English release?)
      Regardless, I really hope the game does well! I've played a lot of Key's VNs before, and while I didn't invest a ton of time in Another Eden, it seems like a pretty cool game. Also, from what I know, Yostar's track record as a publisher is pretty good overall.
      I'm not so sure if I'm going to stick with it for a long time, given how many gacha games I'm already playing, but I'm definitely giving it a try.

    For me the journey of emotion of waiting for a global version went as follows: interested, little excited, waiting patiently, waiting annoyed, waiting annoyed again, doesn't believe global chances, lastly if it comes k if not k, to now cool finally. Hope it has a PC client cause this game looks like it will take up a lot of phone space that I don't have.

    I just hope the game doesn't demand regular/daily play, after limbus I just cannot put up with most gachas anymore
    but who knows if the story is good enough I'll probably manage to bear with it

      Translating from Japanese to English looks hard as hell, and I do think the quality varies a lot depending on the team, but... It's really weird to have knee-jerk reaction just because an English translation has been announced.
      I mean, if the localization is being handled by a team with a bad track record, that's understandable, though I've never heard of anyone having a beef with Yostar in particular.
      But if you have a beef with ALL western localizers... May I ask what in language do you normally play "eastern" games?

    • @volisderg9463
      @volisderg9463 3 місяці тому

      @@joaomarcoscosta4647 in short: western "localizers" love to eject their agenda (woke stuff).
      And I disagree with "sausage enjoyer" mentality. If I don't like something, I free to criticize/express concern, instead of just silently consuming it.
      And I hope, it would end up as empty concern.

    • @Wind-Bound
      @Wind-Bound 3 місяці тому +2

      @@volisderg9463 Yostar is a Chinese company so your "criticism" was wrong in the first place. Yostar own record speaks for itself.
      You are not only wrong but completely blind.

      @@Wind-Bound I would be wrong only if "localizers" that they hire are from China.
      But I get that in ur mind, world is very small place and "no way" someone will hire ppl outside of their Country.
      Also, wasn't Blue Archive released by Youstar. The game that I saw ppl complaining about localizers doing their fav job of twisting and altering text?
      Oh, and yeah. Played a bit of WuWa, Chinese game. There is some alterations too.
      Sry, that I'm not fanboy and/or sausage enjoyer.
